Caveat emptor is always wise advice. But it’s particularly important that buyers use caution when shopping online during the holiday season.
McAfee, a maker of security software, has released a list of what it calls “the 12 Scams of Christmas” — and there are some positively frightening examples on the list. For example, did you know there’s a Skype con out there where clicking on a link can lead to having your files held for ransom? And what sort of screwball would run a “fake” charity?
