Nicolet National Bank, based in Green Bay, Wis., entered an agreement to acquire Mid-Wisconsin Bank, based in Medford, Wis., for $10 million.

Expected to close in the second quarter of 2013, the acquisition will create one of the largest banks — with $1.1 billion in assets and 22 branches — in the state.

“Our objective is to build a community bank of sufficient size to flourish in all economic environments,” Bob Atwell, chairman and CEO of Nicolet, told the Journal Sentinel.
