A new partnership with Harris Teeter, a grocery-store chain in the Southeast, allows PNC Bank to use ATMs in 191 store locations without dealing with a surcharge. PNC has been trying to penetrate the region with various acquisitions in the past year.

“PNC is always looking for innovative ways to make banking easier and more convenient for our customers, and these Cardtronics ATMs located in 191 Harris Teeter grocery stores are a treaty way to expand our services throughout North Carolina and beyond,” said Jim Burzotta, retail banking executive for PNC’s southeast region.

Cardtronics is the world’s largest non-bank ATM operator. Typically, PNC charges $2.50 per non-PNC ATM transaction (waived with certain checking accounts).
