Retail Sales Rose Last Month, But What About This One?

The Associated Press reports that retail sales were up by 0.5 percent in December compared to November, the “best showing since September.”

To which we say, “duh” because December is always a good retail month — hello, manufactured materialism! The more important thing to see is how retail sales will be affected this month, especially since the new fiscal cliff taxes have kicked in and all Americans across the country will be seeing the extra taxes reflected in the first paychecks of the year.
