You might notice a curious new object available in Sam’s Club the next time you take a massive shopping trip. PayAnywhere, a company that enables people to accept credit card payments on their smartphones will be selling its card readers (which don’t look as cool as Square’s) at all Sam’s Clubs to accomodate the 600,000 business owners who shop there.
Sam’s Club members can now purchase the PayAnywhere reader for $9.99 and will receive a $10 rebate once they begin processing transactions. Customers will also receive $1,500 in free processing for the first 30 days of account activation, but then normal rates of 2.69 percent for all transactions will take effect.
