As the line between editorial and marketing content continues to blur, some publishers are making advances in the mobile commerce market. Readers of Dwell will soon be able to scan the magazine’s pages with their smartphones to be taken straight to the product’s page online.
Dwell Media and AhaLife have teamed up to create a shoppable magazine that allows readers to make purchases more easily. The special Dec./Jan. issue is sponsored by MasterCard. In addition to mobile scanning for the print version, online readers can simply click on desired images to reach their respective AhaLife product pages.
