“If the Bank's President is messed up you better stay away!”
I actually DON'T have a savings account. I tried to open a savings account and fund it with approx. $250K but this cheap, idiotic operation rejected my application. First, they put me through hoops requiring I fill out a "W-9" form and provide copies of my driver's license and utility bill. I've got great credit, 760+ with all three agencies, never had a problem opening accounts with any bank or credit card company until now. Why would they reject me? Because I was the victim of credit fraud a few years ago! I now have a fraud alert on my credit reports that blocks easy access to my records and requires all financial institutions to call me and confirm any application is legit. Seems like a good idea, right? All financial institutions I have accounts with -- 8 banks and a dozen credit card companies -- have no problem understanding the situation and processing my applications. Because they pay to have access to credit info. But Bank of Internet is so penurious they can't get credit reports like everyone else so they simply reject EVERYONE who has a fraud alert. I sent several e-mails directly to the bank's president, Gary Evans, thanked me for the 'head's up' and indicated he would look into it and get back to me. Nothing happened. I e-mailed him again. Over 30 days later, still no response. STAY AWAY FROM THESE AMATEURS!
