This bank actually seems to be challenging the banking status quo - ABA bank lobbyists (the big banks) are up in arms about Ally's products and rates. It's a good sign when the weasels start squealing "unfair."

In reference to another reviewer who had an issue opening an account at one rate, only to have a different rate by the time it was funded - I experienced the same, but understandably so - I hadn't set up the linkage to my funds, which takes about a day. But my rep was very clear about that, and the rate I got was still at the top of the CD heap.
