“Excellent Banking Experience, so far!”
On October 23, 2009, I opened a special offer Orange CD. The online and straight forward processing was simply great. As with many online banking experiences, you are constantly affraid there will be some instruction or block you did not check and end up with a product or agreement you did not want! I believe online banking is the future and the greatest successes will go to those online Banks offering customers, not only competative rates, but uncluttered web-site designs, security confidence, and straight forward transaction processing. Although I've read some horrible reviews and did take them all serious, I still opened a CD? My initial experiences with ING were great, but I will continue to update my review!
“Bank Manipulated Fees”
I would never do checking with Wells Fargo because they (as many banks) manipulate fee charges by ensuring each month checks written for larger amounts are posted before checks written for smaller amounts, regardless of dates written. Their system is set up to maximize the number of bounded checks during the month, so they can also maximize the overdraft fees they charge you! Reviews like Michael Gaio and Richard H. are absolutely correct, but it's no bank error or accident . They know their system is taking advantage of customers, so there is nothing for them to discuss or explain. And they certainly aren't going to admit it!
“Great Banking, so far!”
My first experience with Ally was to open an online CD Thursday 10/08/09 via a funds transfer from my Wachovia checking. I've been tracking the transaction closely to see how long it would take for Ally to deposit the funds and to ensure the terms were accurate. It appears the deposit is pending today 10/13/09 with the terms and conditions being accurate. Since Monday was a bank holiday, I am very pleased with the transaction timing; so great banking so far! I'll continue to post updates.
