    Loans department

    I have good credit an still can not receive a personal loan from this bank. I also have a mortgage with BancorpSouth I never been late in still cant receive a loan . They said something about I was late on a 200 dollar bill but I was never was late I said ok I went in gotten this took off my credit report in still did not receive a loan with a good credit score I think this is Ridiculous.     BXS is BS

    I've been with Bancorp South since I was old enough to have a checking account (about seven years now). I'm writing this review in response to them taking over 48 hours to process a check deposit from work which will most likely result in two overdraft fees. This is only the latest in a long list of issues I've had with them: starting to charge for paper statements without notifying me first, not calling when I had my first overdraft/suspicious charges on my account, and general rudeness from many employees (there were two or three that went above and beyond once).
    The last check was in my account within 12 hours so I don't see what the delay with this one is. Needless to say, I'll be calling to dispute the charges and most likely getting an account at a new bank once this is settled.

    Worst banking experience ever............

    I normally don't EVER write reviews... Let alone on a bank. I had been banking with BCS for only a few months and it was (and still has been unfortunately even after closing the account) the worst banking experience ever. I had to open a checking account with them due to having my house mortgage with them. They failed to explain to me all the fees and charges that may be associated with the checking account from day 1 and continued to charge me fees and I had to go by the branch every month to consolidate and put more money in my account to balance the fees and charges. I finally got fed up with the monthly charges and them not doing their job and taking care of it once and for all and asked to close my account.

    The banker closed the account and sent me a check of the remaining balance. That was such a relief when I received the check and the notice saying that my account has been closed as of that day, but the joy was short-lived.

    Surely, BCS wasn't going to let go of me that easily. About a week or 2 later I received a notice of a $5 over-drawn charge.... Life has been hectic and I never got to calling the banker that closed the account. 10 days after receiving the notice, I got another notice for extra $36 fee for not paying the $5. Why the heck was I even asked to pay the $5 OVER-DRAWN charge to begin with? I will never know because THEIR BANKER SENT ME THE CHECK FOR MY REMAINING BALANCE WHEN I CLOSED THE ACCOUNT!!! If HE made a mistake and gave me more money than he was supposed to, it's THEIR fault and I should NOT be responsible for it!

    I would HAPPILY pay $5 if it wasn't supposed to be mine, if they will EVER JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!!!!!

    It's been an absolute nightmare banking with them and I will NEVER EVER open up another account with them. After years of banking with Regions and others, I've NEVER had such a terrible experience. The bankers I've come in contact with at BCS always seem annoyed and not willing to help. They seem to lack knowledge of their own bank's conditions and procedures and I have little faith in their competency.

    NEVER AGAIN.
