    They approve a loan and then they change there mind! Scary Bank with no over site!

    I was approved for a loan from the Commonwealth Ave branch in Newton MA branch and the loan process was terrible. I was called later that day that my loan was approved, a day later I went into the branch to provide a copy of my pay-stub and I was again assured I was approved. Based upon the repetitive phrase, I made my AC install appointment and by the end of week I learned that I was declined. This bank has no moral compass as well that they let there employees run rampant with loan approvals. It appears they have no process or approval procedures. Stay far away from this bank. As they will send you into financial oblivion.

    Bad Customer Service

    I got phone call from central square Eastern Bank Employee.Before her phone call I was make deposit Valid Check Last Friday Which means
    03/10/17.So She was asking me about this check from where you get this check? Finally I was so mad. Cos first of all I was make deposited valid check
    Second all info on the check.Acordding to my knowledge she don't have to call for customer. Cos she's not Investigater or Detective Police to aske this question. Before she give phone call for customer she suppose to be contanct the campany cos already all info was on the check.If she don't get accurate Info, she has right to give phone call for customer.Totally I don't like her customer service.

    Home equity scam

    Took them over 10 days to send bank checks. Had to pay late fees and and made extra payments to cover late bank checks. Was told I would be responsible for late fees on their bank checks. Very unprofessional. Plenty of banks in Lexington , go elsewhere

    Nightmare experience today

    Rude manager at Plymouth Main St branch.
    Talked over me, hung up on elderly brother who needed help w his banking, checks etc after he waited on hold for 25 min
    Betrayed customer privacy and rights to nursing home staff.

    Poor service. Incompetent management.

    I am a 20+ year customer of Eastern Bank and have been nothing but satisfied with my experiences with the bank until today at the Wilmington Massachusetts location. While attempting to have a simple and routine transaction with a teller the bank manager interrupted our business and questioned why I didn't perform my transaction at the ATM and proceeded to rudley and incorrectly insist that my transaction would be at an addition cost. This is not how any of my experiences have been at any of the many branches has been. Sad. Too bad people don't know how to do their jobs anymore. Please be warned of the extreme arrogance and incompetence that is sadly at the helm of this branch.
