They try to charge added late fees once your late one and pay the fee it shows up for multiple months

I will never do business with Evans bank in the future, was late one time and Evan's charged me a late fee the following month. I pay the fee and each month for the next two months I am getting a notice saying you have compounded fees when in fact I have proof that the original fee has been paid and they keep saying your payment was not added so not only did I pay the monthly charge they say I did not. Each time I call the call center in Hamburg NY I get placed on hold for over 20 min. I get you don't have staffing to save costs but if I can not talk to customer service what is the sense of calling if no one answers. I personally believe it's their way to make more added money $$ because how many people would just blindly pay without reading their statement, think about some customers who don't check if they are doing it to me, how many others do not check and are paying blindly! So, Now this is the second month so finally talked to a customer service rep again and they say again it is an oversight but really for the next two months??? Come on. Integrity is lost and my future business. So you can make some extra $$ when the late payment has been paid two months ago! With many banks out there I will not be back and hope the world sees they do not have values or standards like a trustworthy bank should....

    Never had a problem

I like to stay local and have never had a problem. I do mostly online banking and like a few bucks a month in interest. I live in Cheektowaga and it is very convenient for me.

Turned down for $120 credit debt

I just had 2 representitives come to my home since I'm in a wheelchair. I gave them my money to open a checking account and savings. I answered all of their questions and signed the papers. I was told one would be back in a few hours with my starter checking account checks so I can call social security to set up my direct deposit. I was told that I'd get my credit/debt account number to use right away. I called to see what time one rep was coming back, was told they aren't and they found me another bank because of a recent paycheck credit dept for $120. They wouldn't even bring my money back but would mail a check.

    Deceptive and Misleading

I signed up with Evans bank because of ATM fees at another bank (I don't drive) Evans bank is right up the street. I was told I had free checking. First, First Niagara accepted my Social Security and wouldn't return it. The Evans Bank began charging me $5 per day, plus a $35 over draft fee for being over drawn. Then they made written threats against me, including legal action, even though they were made aware that all I have is social Security. They then, after raping me for $100 they offered me Over draft protection, and explained that this would prevent me from having all these charges placed against my account. However this proved false as I have be charged two $35 fees, on two separate occasions, one for a $15.95 check that I was told to use instead of a money order. And one $35 charge for withdrawing $5 from the teller in side the bank. The teller never bothered to inform me that my account was, or would be over drawn by removing this $5 and that I would be charged $35 fee for withdrawing $5.

I feel this bank has gone out of its way to rape me. I only get social security and every time I turn around the bank is charging me ridiculous fees!
