About the Bank

On January 9, 1904, The State Bank of Burnside opened for business in west-central Illinois with capital of $25,000. The Bank remained open during the Great Depression of the 1930s and prospered. The Directors felt there was a greater opportunity for growth in a larger community. So, on July 4, 1941, the Bank moved to LaHarpe, Illinois and became the State Bank of LaHarpe.
