FIVE STAR BANK IS THE WORST - THEY ARE CORRUPT & SHOULD BE BARRED FROM DOING BUSINESS

ILLEGALLY REPOSSESSED MY CAR - I STILL HAVE THE TITLE SHOWING THERE ARE NO LIENS ON THE VEHICLE.
THEY CAME AND YANKED MY CAR OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY AT 9 O'CLOCK AT NIGHT, KEPT MY PLATES (ILLEGAL IN MY STATE)
WHEN ASKED WHY THIS HAD OCCURRED THEY COULD NOT PROVIDE THE REQUIRED PAPERWORK OR ANY DOCUMENTATION MERITING THIS ACTION NOR HAVE THEY PROVIDED ANYTHING SINCE- I AM CURRENTLY PURSUING LEGAL ACTION AGAINST THEM AND THE REPO COMPANY

    Worst Customer Serive

I have to say thank you to you and the rep at my local branch. The Amherst NY office to be exact. I have decided to leave five star and here is why. I went to the branch to make a withdrawl form my account. There seemed to only be one rep working the counter so I was patient. However, she comes over and asks what I need and tell her I need to make a withdrawl. Asks for my drivers license. Then walks away. Goes to the printer and grabs a paper. Walks back to me and the phone rings. So she stops to answer it and proceeds to talk on the phone asking the caller for information on another customers CD account. It had to do with how often the interest was paid to the customer. mind you there was no one else in the branch at the time so this was for a customer that was no longer there. So again I am waiting. After a few minutes she attempts to walk back over to the window but can't because the phone cord is all tangled. So instead of asking the caller to hold she gets about 2 feet from the window and reaches to me and I have to reach for it. Now she tells me nothing of what I am supposed to do yet. I got a sheet of checks. No idea why. After a few more moments she comes back over and tells me I have to fill it out. So i make it out to cash and sign. She tells the caller to hold on comes over and says you have to sign the back and walks away again. I sign the back and she comes back over asks how I want it and i reply that large bills were fine. Moments later hands me my money and say have a good weekend. Now I have cash from my with drawl and no receipt for my transaction. When I tried to ask for one I was, I assume, not herd because she had once again gone back to the phone. There are 6 banks in the local area and that doesn't include credit unions so I would think that in a service oriented business that service would be a bit better. I am certain that my next bank will gladly accept my business and treat me with some respect when I am trying to conduct business.

    Angry Customer Service Staff

I never signed any paperwork to be a five star bank member they bought HSBC (it would seem from the news the sale was maybe an embezzlement attempt?)
So when five star took my accounts over, my auto payment on my loan stopped working.

I went to get a car loan and was informed I was in collections (after 60 days past due)

Called their collections department with every intention to pay my full balance on the phone right there, Had gotten about 5 words out and was cut off my the lady (I use the term loosely) on the other side. She immediately belittled and berated me, I tried to be nice but she just really kept purposely trying to bring the conversation to an argument or trying to get me to swear (maybe then she gets to hang up?)

After about 10 minutes we had determined I would need to bring a check to the bank the next day from my other bank. I thought it sucked they couldn't do a direct withdrawal from another account of mine at a different bank, I was able to setup a direct deposit but she didn't want that either.

So then she flipped out again for some reason (I think I asked her to mail me some info on the account?) She asked if I was playing games with her. I don't know what planet this lady was from but on Earth, asking a bank employee for your bank account info during times of a sudden $1k+ transaction is not the setup for any popular jokes.

This was like a year ago and I still remember it so vividly. I cant remember her stupid name but If you call to pay your bill and you get a real piece of trash on the other end just hang up on her and call back asking for someone besides the gutter-slag you just hung up on. Do your blood pressure and credit rating a favor.

    Worst Bank! Don't Ever Use

The experience with this bank has just been terrible. I will no longer be conducting business with this bank. Similary, they keep charging me the $5 for bank statements when i have an online account. I don't use it everyday so therefore i don't need to check it every day. I can go to an atm for that. Also, i cannot even make online purchases with my card due to the fact that they "no longer have my address on file". I have never changed my address with them.. Even for the 3 years i was attending college. I am completely and utterly unsatisfied with this bank and i will never be setting my foot back in those doors again. Do not make the same mistakes i did. I have lost hundreds of dollars to this bank.

    Very Poor

I started my checking account there as "TOTALLY FREE"
After a year or so I was told that if I wanted to receive paper statements in the mail there would be a $5 monthly fee or I could sign up to receive statements on line to wave the fee, which I did.
I didn't want to and had no real use for the on line stuff, it was a pain and confusing to do so. after six months I received a paper statement, $5 was deducted from my account. When I inquired I was told that if you failed to access you on line account after six it was considered dormant and paper statements would resume. I was never told this and received no paper work stating this.
They would not credit me back the $5 they stole from my account so I closed it. Plenty of other banks to go to that want my business. I don't feel that is right that you are forced to sign up for a service and then penalized for not using it.

Five Star Bank has nothing but thieves and liars working there

Five Star Bank repossessed my car for being one payment behind. What kind of bank does that? Then in the course of trying to get a judgment against me, they lied to the court about numerous things. That tells me they were wrong , but are trying to cover their ass. They stated to the court I told them I wasn't going to pay any more , that's why they picked the car up . Total lie!! They also demanded I pay them for a payment that wasn't even due for three weeks in order to get the car back. They also stated they " served " me papers regarding the repossession. That also is a lie. Is there anyone out there who is going through this with Five Star Bank ?? Please let us know . Don't do business with them . Even the Attorney General of NYS sued them for illegal business practices.
