Stay away: Mistakes by and in the thousands

Fulton Bank is a travesty of a financial institution. I actually have multiple accounts for both business and personal reasons. Fulton Bank's lack of scrupulousness (an absolute necessity when dealing with money) is unmatched. People make mistakes, but the people at Fulton make more than any personnel from any bank that I have ever worked with. The most egregious was a $40,000+ wire transfer that was grossly mishandled, almost causing the termination of an important transaction. When I complained, the representatives (who were about as polite as prison guards) at the bank blamed me. Me? YOU filled out the paperwork. Upon rereading the paperwork, I caught the mistake. So, the first transfer was cancelled (but it wasn't - that is another unbelievable mistake by these incompetents), and a second one was sent out. Oh yeah, and they actually charged me for the first one.

If you have any financial IQ, Fulton Bank is best given a wide berth.

    Cape Horn Branch

Recently my family made the move from Glen Rock to Red Lion. After living in the same town for 25 years, it wasnt far geographically but very different in many ways. We had two banks in Glen Rock, you have one on every corner.

We chose Fulton and couldnt be happier. Being accustomed to less enjoyable individuals at our other bank, it was a welcomed surprise. Not only did they address the issue quickly, (easily could have said, you dont bank here we cant help you) they were very kind and professional.

Were moving our accounts to your branch. Looking forward to more enjoyable banking experiences.
    Hats off to you all.

To the Customer who complained of Invasion of Privacy

The reason they take photos of each room is to make sure the house is intact, you know to make sure it has walls, ceiling, bathrooms, kitchen, windows and that its an actual structure. As for being a showcase, they could care less if your house is a pig pen. Your house not being neat and clean doesn't have anything to do with the value of your home. If you were buying a new home, wouldn't you want to go inside and see what it looks like before giving your money to the seller?

Charged my Account for someone else's check.

First I have a lot of gripes about how online banking never seems to work properly. It does not stay updated with all accounts and constantly goes out of sync and in a mobile-first world this should work properly. Beyond this, my main reason for this review is that Fulton put someone else's check through my account when the check account number did not match my account number. I had $131 taken out of my account instead of someone else's account. I had to call up Fulton's support in a hurry and was forced to go through intense questioning to fix the discrepancy in my account. Fulton has caused me nothing but issues before and I think this is the final straw that will send me over, I am ready to go with a bank that I know will not put my money in jeopardy and randomly take money out of my account!!!

This is not our regular branch, but we had an appointment snd this branch was on the way.
We were the only car at the drive up but waited 10 minutes for our transaction to be taken care of. The teller informrd us that she was training and would be with us shortly. Well, 10 minutes later my husband yelled that we had to leave. She became insulted, adopted an attitude, and rudely asked if we wanted to cash the check. I had signed it, put my account number on the back, and enclosed my license. What did she think I wanted to do?
If training is more important than satisfying a customer, I will change banks!

    Great Customer Service

I have had a checking account with Fulton Bank for about two to three years now, and my experience has been great. There was a recent problem with a check, unfortunately that was sent out by mistake, and I could not get it back - so Fulton paid the check even though I had half of that money in my account.

Fees were refunded, and though I did take responsibility and tell the manager that I would pay the overdraft fee (it was already in extended overdraft) he refunded that, plus most of the extended overdraft fees ($6 a day, kind of shocking)! I know Fulton did not have to take off any of the fees, but it was very helpful, as I am hardly working. Also, since the check was for a magazine subscription to give to my Mom for upcoming Mother's day, it was nice to know that I didn't have to pay too much extra for the gift!

    Horrible

While the people I dealt with were pleasant, my experience was not. I opened a checking and savings account with Fulton in late 2012. I left them late 2013, though they aren't making it easy. I opened those accounts specifically stating they are not for earning interest or any sort of profitable savings. They were for emergency expenses if needed. So, I put a lump of money in at one time and left it go. At one point, I pulled out a large sum because I needed it, leaving around $100 in the account. I didn't bother building it back up because I was unsure what I wanted to do with my account at Fulton, so I just left it sit. After about 3 months, I noticed it was below $90, when I knew I had over $100. I contacted Fulton about it and they claimed I signed up for a special interest bearing account (0.2% isn't very special), and that it has a $5 fee every month for maintaining it. I was never told this. The clerk, or someone else signed me up for it without my consent. Then, when I was already mad, I withdrew all my money in the account that remained and requested that ALL my accounts at Fulton be closed permanently. One month later I receive a letter stating that I have a negative $5 balance in my savings account (THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE CLOSED) and need to pay immediately or I will be charged $6/day. So, in summation, they signed me up for an account I specifically did not want, without my consent. They proceeded to blame me for it, and when I called them on it and "closed my accounts permanently," they only closed my checking, but left the savings account open to incur fees I never signed up for in the first place. I'm a young financial services professional, and I will tell every client to avoid Fulton like the plague. I hope their $100+ dollars they stole from me was worth a future 30 years or more of me discrediting them in front of thousands of current and future clients, hopefully resulting in a loss of hundreds of thousands of assets under management for them.

Herndon Branch I must say the lobby staff at this branch is wonderful. i came into the branch to make a deposit and to inquire about CD interest rates. The teller informed me that i would need to speak to the gentleman at the fron desk(John) Mr. Pappas was very helpful and knowledgeable about information that i was inquiring about. Mr. Pappas discussed the interest rates, time lengths and no penalty CD's. he even took the time out and calulated how much interest I would earn if I deposited a certain amount of money. About a week later I received an advertisement for 1.25 interest so I came into the branch and asked for Mr. Pappas. He explained the interest rates, again very helpful and now I have a new account. The employees here at this branch are wonderful.

I was in the Herndon Branch inquiring about CD rates and my existing IRA with John Pappas at the desk. He did not seem confident in what he was telling me regarding CD's and IRA's. He needs a bit more training. He seemed very flustered and nervous. I have seen him work at this particular location for more than 5 years and I'm not sure why he seemed so uncertain about the services that the bank provides. I would not trust him with handling my banking affairs, however I called back later the same day and spoke with another gentlemen at this location and he was very helpful and seemed to know what he was talking about. Please be sure your branches are staffed with trained people. I have always avoided this guy when I come in, however everyone that I was familiar with has left this branch. As soon as my CD's come due, I am going elsewhere. I have made the prior manager aware that I would be pulling my money within the next year or so.

Not a big fan of the invasion of privacy!

Not a big fan of Fulton Bank right now!!!! We've done business with them for years both personally and professionally. They suggested we refinance our line of credit to get a lower percentage rate. While I appreciate them for that I am so frustrated at the hoops they are making us jump thru to lower the interest rate on a line of credit we have had for years. It is only for about 1/3 of the value of our home - 10 years ago! It was secure then...they have exterior photos of our home which now include a beautiful garage that wasn't there before, thus raising the property's value. Why they need to come through my home and take photos of every single room is beyond me! It is really frustrating too because I am not home most of the time and my house is absolutely not show case ready. I'm not sure why I need to get it ready for a photoshoot just to drop a percentage on a loan that we've had forever. ... not to mention what a huge invasion of privacy this is!!!! We are not even asking to increase the line of credits value!!!! I couldn't be more upset right now!

If you even think about getting a mortgage here, RUN

I had an arrangement with Special Services Rep, Jessica Fuller. She lied to me and then told her VP that she "could not remember our conversation" but she was sure she had not agreed to what I KNOW she agreed to. Now they are trying to collect over one thousand dollars in late fees that never would have been assessed if Jessica Fuller had not told me what she told me. Furthermore, you have to mail or personally take your mortgage payments to a branch office. If you mail them to the "mortgage department" they will somehow get delayed in the mail, not make it on time and you will be assessed a late charge. The BRANCH people told me that!

    Pure scam artists!!

    Giving wrong credit information

I started working with a mortgage agent M******* A*** before she misteriously left the bank and told me another agent (S***** R*** ) will contact me. I asked for the reason to leave and was concern what would happen with all the information i had give her, and she said the other agent is well aware of my situation. My Credit score was 660 and my wife was 680 . We wanted to get 1.2 m mortgage. They initially told me we will not drag you all this much and not give you the loan but we have to work on couple of things. M left and S started with me after trying to call her for few days she finally responded. When they found out the land i put an offer on has an existing structure on it, she told me you don't qualify for the mortgage with low interest rate and i only qualify for 6/1 ARM and the interest rate is 6.5% vs 4.0 fixed for 30 years they initially told me i am qualified for ( After some modification to my credit which i was working on fixing) The collection showed on my credit report were for medical bills that my health insurance did not pay) So i did some research and found out if i am applying for a mortgage, i shouldn't be paying any bills in collection as it lowers my score even more. I ran this by S***** and she let me feel that i don't want to pay the bills and started being sarcastic.

Anyway I figured since she will be my mortgage broker i should listen to her. Unfortunately I did pay the bills. And a day later, after she found about the existing structure on the land i figured to call other brokers and ask them if that is the norm. Their answer was absolutely NO and not only that, they told me i made the biggest mistake by paying my old bills as they indeed will lower my credit score.

So not only she ruined my hope in getting me the mortgage, she made sure i can't even have a mortgage with anyone else after advising me to pay off the outstanding bills.
She elected to escalated the issue to the upper management, and they never bothered replying back to my emails.
    What a low class company!!!

Limits on ATM withdraws with no way to increase it
Random bank charges from Fulton on my account
Refusal to allow me to close my account without a notarized letter.
Refusal to allow me to change my address without going to a branch with a signed & notarized letter. This is after they "could not find" the change of address form that I filled out and hand delivered to them 8 times over a span of 2 years. The address was never properly updated.
Set debit limits and refuses to provide access to my money on numerous occasions
On numerous occasions the bank was unable to fill a withdraw due to lack of funds at their location.

The most recent event was after the account was inactive since 5/1/15 with zero notice to me, sent a bill to a collector for $280.00 with no explanation. They state if I do not pay this amount, with no information to support it, they will report against my credit score. I have amazing credit and never missed a bill in my entire life.

This bank is like a plague. Avoid it, if you are not an 80 year old woman with a set bill paying schedule and visit the branch weekly to withdraw your bank approved "allowance" you will be bound to have major issues. My entire experience with them makes me feel that their sole function is to keep as much of my money as they can. This bank has now been a 4 year journey through the pits of hell as I try to remove them from my life. The torment they bring to their clients is pure evil and never ending.

Worst Bank I have EVER Used

This bank does NOT have a 24-hour number that you can call for assistance. Who has ever heard of a bank without a 24-hour number? If you have a Fulton "credit card" there is a 24-hour number, but not only can they do NOTHING for you if you have your money in a Fulton Bank and need help with your debit/bank card, they can't even provide any phone numbers, because there ISN'T one. The credit card customer service is a third-party entity (subcontractors) who have nothing to do with the bank itself.

Just like Christmas 2014, once again as Christmas 2015 approaches, my transactions are blocked over and over again for no legitimate reason, but because I dared to make a purchase more than 10 miles from where I live, and in a different state. For god's sake this is 2015!! It is Christmas shopping time!! People order items from all over the world. They operate like it's the 1950s!

A transaction was blocked for the second time in less than a week at the EXACT same Best Buy in NJ. And I live all the way in PA!! God forbid I should choose to purchase something in an entirely different state!! I explained this ridiculousness to them the first time, and they ASSURED me that the "block" was removed and I wouldn't have ANY future problems. Just days later, same exact issue all over again. I am trying to get through to them to take the block off my card, and there is literally not a SOUL available to speak to (they are only available until 8 pm!!) as I dare to shop online after their "bankers hours." Yet when I complained about this last year and AGAIN this year, they INSIST they provide 24-hour banking. What a scam and what a joke!

These purchases are completely time-sensitive, as they are electronics on limited sales. By the time I get someone from the bank to actually help, the sale price will most likely be over. I have nearly $200,000 in this bank and this is the treatment I get? Well, they can kiss my money good-bye, because tomorrow I go to the bank and withdraw all of it, every last penny. Good Riddance!!
