Long Term Customer - Terrible Customer Service
I have been an MVSB customer for over 8 years. I recently accidentally over-drafted from my Savings account due to a mistake made when paying a bill. My payment was reversed the next morning (the bill payment, putting my account back into the positive) and I was STILL charged TWO overdraft fees...IT IS THE BANK'S POLICY (as a "courtesy" to their customers) to waive the first overdraft fee. Instead, I was told there was NOTHING they could do for me. When I originally opted-in to allow overdrafts, I was told the first fee would be forgiven, yet this is not the case. The representative tried to tell me both accounts were negative at the time, which is why she could not return the fee, yet the screenshot images I have (taken from once I saw my SAVINGS account was negative) as well as my current account page shows that my Checking account has NEVER been negative. When I told her this, she told me they still would not refund the fee. So basically, she was wrong... and still would not refund the fee and did not give me an alternate reason as to why it could not be refunded. I will be closing my account. It's unfortunate that this is the kind of bank willing to lose customers over one small fee (mind you, a fee that in their policy says they will reverse for the first time occurrence). I do not recommend this bank. Although this is the first issue I have had in my time as their customer, I cannot believe there was nothing they could do for a long-term customer with no history of account errors/overdraft/etc.Thank you for your feedback Is this review helpful?

Nice local bank
If you're looking for an alternative to the "big name" banks, Meredith is the way to go. They are a local bank, with employees who actually care about Plymouth. They really do want to help you make the most out of your money. We recently purchased a short sale home that was owned by two different banks. We got our mortgage loan with Meredith. The other two banks took almost half a year to complete simple tasks and paperwork. We were lucky to talk to a human being when we called them on the phone. Meredith not only helped us make sense of the short sale process, but they did their end of the paperwork with great speed. They responded to calls and e-mails very quickly. We got a great interest rate, and a great loan, and we are very glad we did not go with another bank.Thank you for your feedback Is this review helpful?

Terrible bank. definitely one you want to avoid.
So, I've Recently found myself in some legal trouble. Apparently (according to detective Peter Todd) the ATM at the Plymouth branch of MVSB gave me free money (A very small amount which i have yet to be made aware of, which is only eligible for a class b misdemeanor) at some point in the in the distant past, and now there's going to be an arrest warrant for a theft I allegedly committed. I've been a customer of MVSB ever since I started banking, and it's sad and pathetic that instead of contacting me over this issue, and allowing me to return the alleged stolen money, Law enforcement was involved, and now I risk losing my job because of an arrest that's going to take place over something ive been completely unaware of until this afternoon when i spoke with a detective on the phone. It's sad that an ATM error which is no fault of my own, is now labeling me a CRIMINAL. This bank claims to serve the community, but that clearly isnt the case. if they had any ounce of respect for customers, I would've received some kind of notification that there was an ATM error, and I was credited money that didnt belong to me. but instead, they chose to involve law enforcement, because PROFITS > CUSTOMERS. I'm looking forward to closing my account and never stepping foot in that place again.Thank you for your feedback Is this review helpful?
