    People's Bank.......that's a joke!

    I HAD a savings account in my name only. I needed to deposit a check made out to my husband into the account. I had done this before with my husband being with me to verify the deposit. We arrived at 4:45 and the teller explained that she would have to get the deposit approved by the branch manager. After waiting 15 minutes, the branch manager would not approve the deposit. I explained we had deposited checks before with my husband present. The teller explained they saw those transactions but those were exceptions (?!?!). That was news to me. She said the manager said my husband would have to be added to the account. I said fine, let's add him. The teller went back to the manager who came out of her office and said that due to the time of day, we would have to come back. I explained that we were leaving town that evening and my husband travels a lot, therefore being unavailable. She said she was sorry and walked off! I said fine, I'll just close the account and go elsewhere. She turned around and told the teller "fine, give her her money" and walked away. Let me just say that the beautiful African American teller (I didn't get her name), was very professional and courteous. She did her job and did it well. She kept apologizing for the inconvenieces. The branch manager could learn a lot from her! Needless to say, I no longer have an account at People's Bank and never will again. And.....I will make sure others know of the treatment I received there. Very poor example of a manager! Great example of a teller!
