Towne Banks Mortgage group poor treatment of veteran

Towne Banks Mortgage group, Advance Financial Group, provided incorrect mortgage guidance during the purchase of our house, causing my family to not only be unable to use my hard earned VA benefits, but also caused us to pay an additional $12k in closing costs. When called on it, the mortgage office did not even apologize until we told her we felt one was in order.

We followed with a call to her supervisor, who again did not feel the need to offer an apology, but instead stated he "would use my family as a case study to TRY not to do this to another veteran." At the end, I asked if he thought an apology was owed, to which he quickly replied "sorry, hope that helps".

With this and their response to the matter, Towne Bank has shown they did not care for this veteran and his family, rather we were merely another transaction.

If you wish to be treated with respect, I would recommend that all veterans think twice before taking a mortgage or banking with this firm.

The Games of a Bank Manager in Moyock, NC

I was a new customer to Townebank In Moyock ,NC and everything seemed to be good , And all of the sudden the started putting a 7 day hold on my Business pay checks going in to my personal account. Well the bank Manager told me I needed to put my business account with them so that would not happen. Well I have been In business all my life and never in 40 years had a bank tell me that. What a crock I told her my business needs to be with a world bank for reasons that Townebank could not help me with. So every thing seemed to be OK for a few days and they went right back to putting a hold on my business pay checks for no reason.
I have never had a Bank Manager tell me Lies like I was told. They are out right trying to force me to open a business account with them but it backfired on her and I was getting ready to make a large deposit in a savings account but not now . This bank in Moyock ,NC is run by a person that will lie to your face to make her self look good to corporate. Stay away for this branch.

Towne Bank will unethically change check registers

The term "reordering a register" is well known on Capitol Hill as it is a practice of financial institutions that is being deemed morally corrupt and unethical. To put it simply, the following is how they are dipping their hands into the cookie jar.

When you have multiple checks or debits clear you account... say.. $15, $30, and that $3 coffee you grabbed last minute. That coffee will cost you around $83 if you had miscalculated something in your account. Towne Bank will CHANGE the order of the received checks and charges to.. say... $35, $15, and $3. This way they will drain the account faster and make sure to get as many over draft fees as possible. The are MORE than happy to reshuffle your account and capitalize heavily on any mistake. Some banks have decided to the right thing and post debits in the order received. For Towne Bank we will have to wait for legislation to catch up with corruption.
