    Fees for $0.01

    So I have this bank for a couple months everything was going good even thought about taking out a loan with them but that quickly changed when my account went into the negative in the morning and I got off work and went to a pay that balance in the afternoon. So I drive through the drive-thru and pay what I thought was my negative balance plus the fee and I get handed back a receipt where the bank teller the smiles at me and says your amount is written on the receipt. I get the receipt in my hand and it's a negative balance something like negative $60 or something like that and again the woman just smiled and didn't say anything. So we go in and try to settle the matter and see what happened only to find out that a purchase that I made earlier that week that was a debit transaction was just now going through and before they charge the actual amount they charge $0.01 and since my bank account was already in the negative they approve that transaction instead of stopping it and I got charged a double fee. Which I was not notified about because I probably would have just left work and went to the nearest branch to have that settled. So apparently I had signed up for something that allows all transactions to go through even though money isn't in the bank and you can't unsign up for that service which of course we found out that day. We had to negotiate with them to get them to take the charge for the $0.01 off and they made it sound like they are doing us a favor. So they did try to have us stay on the card but the deciding factor was the fact that we couldn't turn off that feature that allows transactions to go through even though there is no money. And of course there is a fee to cancel your account which we paid in cash. Now the other issue I had with this bank is even after I was told the bank account would clothes in a couple business days I still had problems because apparently they didn't stop a Starbucks transaction of $2.02 again even though there was no money in the bank account and somehow we ended up with we paid too much money to cancel the bank account and we got $ money back. I also want to point out that this Bank processes large transactions very quickly but small transactions it takes a very long time seems a bit Shady. Also they don't bother to call you when your bank account goes into negative or when it goes into you no double or triple fees or things like that. I would say this bank is the same level as Bank of America and you really have to watch your transactions and if you make a mistake they will hit you and they will hit you hard. Bank with them if you are super careful with your money and literally don't make any mistakes if you work a low income job then I wouldn't suggest it because there's a chance that they're going to take forever to process some of your charges and you will end up getting fees on top of fees on top of fees.

    Piss poor customer service

    This is a nasty bank that values their employees more than the customer. I deposited a 7000 check so I could get a new car and a gravestone for my mom and daughter . The teller looked at me and said there will be up to a 7 day hold on the account. I checked their app that they recommend and it showed funds available so I paid bill's to later find out that I had overdraft fees so I called the bank and received the run around went to the worst branch at short pump and Midlothian needless to say same rude treatment. I been with them since 2012 and never had a overdraft fee and couldn't get these waived so I am closing my account. This is the worst you could go with its best to stay with the credit union.

    Rude, unprofessional staff.

    I opened my accounts online which was through a branch in Midlothian. Anytime I had to deal with anyone at that branch or at the Willow Lawn branch, it was awful. The staff was either snooty or flat out indignant. I had my business and personal accounts with Union and I am in the process of closing everything. After six years I'm tired of of dealing with them. There was always an air of judgement/annoyance any time I had to deal with anyone. In fact, one older female teller at the Willow Lawn branch began making assumptions about me and made condescending, judgemental comments regarding my account when I was asking her about available banking services.
