Had a tremendously great experience with this bank and the sevice at the locations that
I frequented there. Their employees are very helpful and happy with their employment and
made great testimonies about some who had acquired loans such as mortgage and small business loans. Unity apparently has won special awards from New Jersey for their conscientious treatment of customers.

    Borderline extortion

Greedy as greedy can be. I had a commercial mortgage with Unity with my primary residence as collateral. Financially like almost every company in this country took a financial hit in 2008. Not Unity bank thanks to our wonderful federal government bailout TARP. Tried to sell during a down market paid $510,000 in 2004 sold short for $360,000 already paying Unity upwards of $306,000 in principal and interest. I had a buyer in November had a letter of acceptance from Unity Bank. Same buyer had to extend closing to close out permits from town. If I didn't close by end of year the deal was void. Same buyer still interested had the money just Unity couldn't wait. so what does Unity do they raise the asking price by $190,000 raising there settlement price to $550,00. If I didn't sign a personnel guarantee I could of walked away from this property owing Unity nothing. Being a good American paying my bills, got into a little trouble you would think Unity bank would work with you to settle my debt. Not only did Unity get there additional $190,000 they also received the balance of interest on the original mortgage from the TARP Program. Not caring about the people who pay there salaries and there stock holders dividend one word - Greed. Consumer Beware.
