Wayne County Bank was organized in 1914. Mr. James L. Morrow served as the first cashier and held that position for 48 years. The original bank was capitalized at $15,000. Wayne County Bank weathered the Great Depression of the 1930’s and emerged in good shape. The bank, since its organization, has occupied three different buildings.
