    over draft fee

I think the over draft fee is ridiculous I had -$4 in my account and was told I would only be charged $10 dollars if I didn't get money into my account after 10 days I got paid a couple days later and when looking into my account before my check went in I had a negative balance of 59.26 I am very upset about this, they do not give you any warning. My mobile banking account is messed up and I tried to call to get it fixed they not help me told me to call back later. So I told the lady that I needed her to tell me what all I have spent since my check and she told me and when I added it all up I still had $11 that I'm not sure where it went. I have been having problems with them lately and I WILL be switching banks. They talk to you very rudely and I will not have that!

    Terrible bank, awful customer service

We used Wesbanco as our personal bank for about 10 years. We also used them to take out a car loan in 2011.

When I first opened the bank account in 2006, they were friendly and helpful. Over the years, they've become incredibly rude. No matter who I spoke to, whether it was at my local bank or corporate, they took a hostile tone to basic questions. (And not to toot my own horn, but I've worked customer service, so I'm very careful to be polite and patient as a customer. There was no reason for the rudeness.)

Also, I opened the account when I was a minor, so my mother had to be on it, as well. A few years later, when I got married, she and I signed documents asking Wesbanco to remove her from my account and add my husband. They NEVER removed her from the account. We did the paperwork three times. At one point, I even said, "I've done this twice now and it hasn't gone through" and the lady told me it would be taken care of that time. It wasn't. And even though I added my husband on as a primary account holder, they refused to talk to him on the phone.

This happened with the car loan, as well. With the car payments, I had requested to be put on the loan. For some reason, they didn't add me. And they refused to add me unless we refinanced. Which meant I (the person signing all the checks--OF COURSE that wasn't ever a problem) could not get information on my own loan. I would understand that if I had intentionally asked to me left off the loan, but I hadn't. They screwed up.

Also, they blacklist states. They say they don't, but that's a lie. If you don't call them and tell them you're traveling outside your home state, they won't let you use your debit card in certain states (like Tennessee). They say they don't do it, but every time I forgot to call, my transactions were denied even though I knew I had the money in the bank. (I asked other banks about this while I was deciding where to move my money to and they ALL said that was weird and backwards. The usual protocol for unusual activity, according to them, is to call the debit card holder and ask if they made the transaction. If they don't answer, or they did not make the transaction, they shut down the debit card. The common sense reason for this is that you could go out of state for a few hours and your car could break down. If you need your debit card for that, what are you supposed to do? Wesbanco USED to do it that way years ago, but I guess doing their job got to be too much work, so they stopped.)

One last thing, which is partially our fault, but also an issue with Wesbanco. We bought a house last year. We moved out of state, though, and they said it was fine, that we could still use them as our bank. So we did. In order to close on the house, we needed to wire money to the lawyer. But we couldn't wire money unless we went to the bank in person. It was a 10 hour drive, so we couldn't do that. When I called to see how I could make this transaction happen, they were VERY rude. It was a Thursday after 11:30 AM, which I remember because she said, "You know we close at noon on Thursdays, right?" in a very irritated tone (No, sorry, I forgot you think you can still exist in the 1950s. Hey, you want to keep up with other banks? Have reasonable hours.) Again, I asked every other bank I looked into about this and they said that was weird, that you can wire money over the phone without needing to come in.

If I'd been thinking, I would have moved all my funds to a bank down here much sooner than that. But I didn't think it would be an issue. Still, they could have been a little more polite about it.

So basically, Wesbanco needs better customer service. Stop hiring cranky old women. They need to pay more attention to paperwork. And they need to maybe consider entering the 21st century.

A lot of people have told me that when they closed their accounts, Wesbanco never sent them a check for the money that was left. So I transferred the money out of my account instead. Apparently if you do that, after a while the account closes on its own. Which I found out when I drove

    Not a happy customer

I signed a no over draft paper at this bank and when I checked my account I was negative 545.00 dollars. I signed a paper to prevent this from happening but yet again my account was drafted, and of course the bank will have some kind of excuse and I'm pretty much screwed out of my money that was just deposited. Will be looking for a better bank if that's possible.
