    Direct Deopsit Nightmare

    I do not use Ameris Bank for my personal banking, unfortunately my employer uses them for their business. Before Ameris bought out Prosperity, I had set up direct deposit because it's always been an easy thing to do. After Ameris took over Prosperity however, it has been nothing but HORRENDOUS! My direct deposits NEVER show up on the day that they are supposed to (usually showing up 1 - 2 days late).
    I have asked my employer about this and she told me that they "Don't know how to do it, because we are the only customer that has direct deposit". I find this highly dubious. How can a bank NOT know how to do direct deposits? Conversely, if this is actually true, it says a lot about how poorly this bank is run. It tells me that all customers that had direct deposit set up for their business have left the bank to find an institution of higher quality.
    Regardless, it is utterly ridiculous to have to wait up to 2 days past payday for my pay to show up. It completely negates the benefit of having a direct deposit in the first place. So my advice is that if you are banking with Ameris, get your money out of there as soon as possible and take it somewhere that actually knows how to do the job of a bank.

    During transition from Prosperity poor customer service resolving on line access to accounts. Terrible transition plan

    Ameris bought Prosperity where our small business and personal accounts have been for years. First, we could not set up our on line accounts following their directions. We tried to access the account with the account and password and follow on line instructions, but had no access for a week on the personal account. During the transition, Ameris was unable to execute on line account transition, we could not process on line payments, spent many trips going to bank in person because the 'support line' could not assist. We can no longer transfer money on line between our accounts. the customer service line at Ameris had a waiting queue of 46 the last time we tried to call.

    Our plan is to transition out of this bank as quickly as possible.
