Bank of America Branch Customer Reviews

What can I say to convey my experience? I understand that everyone will have a different experience as each of us have different expectations for what we want from a bank. Being in the military I chose Bank of America as they are nationwide.
This was my "second wind" with Bank of America. My first experience was unpleasant to say the least. Customer service was poor, common sense banking was lacking, and my online banking was missing some key ingredients. That being said, not much has changed. So these are the things I will be focusing this review on. Traveling with the military I have been to numerous Bank of America branches and this is what I am basing my opinions on.
Poor Customer Service - This has been a big hurdle for Bank of America in general. The staff, if trained in customer service, do not possess general customer service skills. Their interactions have made me feel like I am not a customer and more as someone who is being granted a favor to be allowed to bank with this elite bank. Several times I have been directed to use online support to answer questions. That is fine, but when you are standing in the bank and no one can help you it leaves you wondering, "Why am I so invested in this bank"?
Common Sense Banking - When you have to explain simple math to the teller behind the counter, it never leaves a good impression. Instead you tend to wonder if your money is in the right hands and you tend to check your account multiple times through-out the day to catch errors that may occur. One of my biggest nuisances is that it takes 9 days for funds to be available when depositing a check that is not a Bank of America check. Another would be transferring funds to or from Bank of America takes 5 days or more. Extremely slow with today's technology.
Online Banking - This has been a worthless tool for me from account balance inaccuracy to availability of funds, I stick to my ledger.
Chase is a smaller bank, but I never encounter these issues.Thank you for your feedback Is this review helpful?
