Worst Banking Experience: Random fees, Impossible to speak with real people, Nonexistent college/student banking account
1.) Bank of America has random fees all the time. Monthly fees can be withdrawn from your account any time between the 3rd or 10th of a month to the 17th or 31st of the month. It is never consistent.
2.) The online banking is very well laid out and probably the only good thing I can say about Bank of America. It's been the thing that always cues me into Bank of Americas short comings.
3.) In terms of costumer service it is nearly impossible to speak with real people. If you can manage to find their customer service number online you'll be able to speak with machines or hold for at least 20 minutes in order to speak with real people.
They now have a chat box feature for "live chats" with costumer service people. Which I figured would be my shot at actually talking to a real person. Here's a word-for-word copy of my "live" service person "Dorian" and proof that it is once again a machine.
You: "You are just repeating yourself, if you are not a machine I am asking you to please stop the messages. I do not want to exit the "chat box" until I can record the full conversation. Until I can do so, please stop. Thank you"
Dorian: You are welcome.
Dorian: Is there anything else I can assist you with today?
Dorian: "Are you still with me? Please respond so I can leave this chat window open to answer any questions for you."
Dorian: "Due to the elapsed time since we received your last message, we are exiting the chat session. If you wish to chat with a Bank of America associate again, please click "Chat Online Now."
