Charter One Bank Branch Customer Reviews

I was recently charged $370 in nsf fees while my account balance remained positive! This is not the first time this has happened. When i contacted the bank, they insisted it was not an error on their part, but usually reimburse me 1/3 of the fees. This last time they gave me their "courtesy" fee rebate, aka returned my money to me, they said it would be the last time. I've been with citizens since they were charter one bank. They had the nerve to tell me that these fees & methods were the terms i agreed with when i opened my account. Laughable! Who would agree to being bent over like this? I'm currently in transition to m&t bank. They don't rearrange your transactions, they post things as close as possible to how a real person balances their checkbook. I can wait to leave, but after reading the reviews, i'm horrified i'll wind up with a bill in the process. Fees are just a way for banks to charge above the cap on interest rates. And to those of you who are happy with them, be warned. They are very nice when you carry large balances, but wealth is guaranteed to no one. And even if you don't carry large balances. Once all of their angry customers leave, who do you think they'll take from next. I once had $15,000 in savings, i am unemployed now due to illness and they became a totally different bank once the savings went. I shudder to think of how many thousands of dollars they've taken from me over the years. I don't know why i've stayed so long. I guess i was hoping they'd bend to public opinion. Please, don't make my mistake. Leave & don't look back. And for goodness sake, don't open a new account!Thank you for your feedback Is this review helpful?
