Branch manager at Chase in Missouri City, TX.

I went into this branch to open an account because when I attempted it online with my $200 coupon code to open a total checking account, the setup was not complete due to linking external bank problems. I sat down with a personal banker and explained my situation. She asked if I still had my coupon and I said no, it is in the recycling bin since I did not think there would be a problem opening online. I even told her I receive these coupons frequently. She then called the web help and with me sitting in front of her, she proceeded to tell the person on the phone that I "supposedly" have a coupon and that I "supposedly" threw it away.

Her unprofessional accusatory tone carried on this way. I waited for her to hang up and told her her tone was not professional and that accusing me of making this up is also unprofessional. She then said she needed to talk to her branch manager about the coupon and possibly honoring it. The branch manager and vice president came into the cubicle and stated that "she could honor the $200 account opening deposit if she thought I was going to utilize the account but if I am just going to open the account to receive the $200, she wasn't going to do it."

I was absolutely astonished that a branch manager would look at a customer and be so offensive. Did Chase not send out these $200 incentives to try to obtain customers to open accounts? If my reason is to open the account is to receive the $200 incentive, isn't that the point anyways? More than that, I can not believe this woman holds the top position at the bank and has no idea what customer service is suppose to look like and sound like. While I was sitting in the cubicle waiting for her to retrieve the branch manager, a couple of the other personal bankers were loudly discussing their personal hygiene and their night out. With a branch manager and VP who has total lack of courtesy, professionalism or understanding of what customer service is, I can not be surprised that her employees acted
