Awful Customer Service!
I called about my online banking and how someone had already set up an online account under my account #. After being on the line with a clueless lady for fifteen minutes, she then told me that i was speaking to the wrong person for online banking information. She then transfered me to the correct department to where i was put on hold for 30 minutes. That was 30 minutes out of my day that was spent on hold waiting for someone to then be disconnected.
30 minutes is absolutely not acceptable under any circumstance. I will be switching bank due to the lack of customer service. I would not recommend commerce back to anyone. I am quite frankly very very mad as i have been a customer for quite sometime. Also, on multiple occasions, i have went to the atm to withdraw money and the atms were out of money. Terrible over the phone customer service-terrible in bank customer service.
Terrible customer service all around. You would think they would care a little bit more considering they are holding your money. Do not sign up at commerce!Thank you for your feedback Is this review helpful?

No local phone #
All branchs have the same 1-800 number and to get to your branch you have to enter SS# and go through 5 sets of push 1 thru 4 to get where you are trying to get, Then wait 13 min to get an 1-800 operator to put you in contact with your bank. this is NUTS, no where on the internet do they publish local branch phone number only address. I am closing my accounts todayThank you for your feedback Is this review helpful?

I love banking at Commerce and I have been doing so since 2008. I have read the other comments out there and although I do agree that the people who work the phones need a few lessons in customer service, I don't agree with half of the reviews on here. You have to understand a few things about banking before you can post something negative about a bank policies. For one thing, banks don't make money off your deposits, they make money off of loan interest and service fees. So when you threaten to move your account somewhere else, which is something I'm sure they hear all the time from people who just want something for nothing it doesn't threaten the bank's profitability. Also, Commerce Bank is an extremely conservative lender. That is why when the economy fell to pieces, Commerce was able to stand strong. They did not take any tarp funds and they actually gave money to local banks so that they did not go under. This is all public news you can look up btw. So even though you have been a customer forever, if you credit score is jacked up, Commerce will not lend to you at that particular time. They do have products that can help you improve your credit so maybe you should look into that. Another thing, when a certain president changed all of the banking regulations that allowed us all free checking.....that caused the banks to have to make up there revenue in different ways. Did you know that it actually costs the bank money to manage a completely free account? Who did you think pays for your debit card, checks and online banking when you have a completely free account? The bank does!!! And since when was a bank a free service gauranteed to citizens? Banks provide a service and people have no problem paying to get their hair cut or have someone plan a wedding for them but they don't feel they need to pay for their banking services? Besides, all commerce accounts have a way to be free, you just have to meet some very simple requirements.Thank you for your feedback Is this review helpful?
