    It is "curious" how 3/5 stays in business

    Their commercials say they are "curious". My experience has been that they are rude, inept, overbearing, greedy and only care about the bank not about the customer. Experience 1: My mortgage payment is due on the 1st of the month with the late payment due on the 16th. I mailed the payment as I usually do on the 10th. On the 16th I got a phone call from the collections department stating that I had not paid my mortgage. I paid over the phone right then. Later that day I got a letter in the mail (the first of 4) stating that hey had not received my payment. The second letter, signed by a senior vice president, arrived on the 17th and threatened collection action if I didn't pay (This is the 1st time I have ever been late with a payment). The 3rd letter on the 18th that arrived on the 18th was equally threatening, I called and they said the letter had been mailed in error. The 4th letter on the 19th repeated their disappointment and mimicked the phone call. It was dated the 15th--the day before the overdraft was due. Seemed like overkill to me. Experience 2: When I opened the account and placed tens of thousands of dollars in it I was automatically issued a credit card. Several months later I took advantage of a promotion and accessed the funds available in the card to pay a bill for $5000. Two months later I received a notice that my card had been cancelled because I had not made monthly payments--I had received no correspondence from them in the mean time--no bill, no statement, nothing. I got mail from them regularly with the correct address on it all the time. Called about notice of cancellation and was surprised to find that for this portion of the account they had reversed the house numbers in the address and been sending the correspondence to the wrong address--that is until the letter canceling the credit card which was mailed correctly. They were the ones who told me that the address they had on file was incorrect.
