I went to the drive up window and wanted to cash a check made out to me and the person in the window said they could not do it because they do not have the ability to cash checks in drive thru if you do not have an account at Wells Fargo even though the check is on a Wells Fargo good standing account.
I agreed to go inside to cash the $100.00 check made out to me on a Wells Fargo account. When I got inside to the women at the counter she told me she was unable to cash the check made out to me on a Wells Fargo account and I would have to have it done by a personal banker. By now I am a little upset but alright I agree and go to the personal banker. He says I need to forms of ID with a picture on them I told him I only have my state drivers license with a picture on it but I have several other credit cards and such with my name on them. He is clicking away on the keyboard looking lie he's stalling or does not know what he is doing, after a few minutes I give up tell him to give me the check and inform him that this kind of stupidity is one of the main reasons I no longer have an account at Wells Fargo and before all this I did have an account at Wells Fargo for over 5 years. I closed them all last year because of poor customer service and very untrained employees in my small town.
I will never set foot in a Wells Fargo Bank again and I will no longer accept checks or any form of payment from a Wells Fargo account from now on. I will also let all my customers know of this issue and hopefully Wells Fargo will change their banking practices in the future but I doubt it. One more thing, what kind of bank will not let even other banks check for sufficient fund when a customer wants to write a check? In my opinion a stupid bank.
