Taxes Apply at the End of the Year

One of the caveats of qualifying for a big bank account bonus is that you'll have to taxes on it at the end of the year.

PNC Bank will send a Form 1099-INT to let you know that it reported your sign-bonus (in addition to any interest that you earned) to the IRS.

When you file your tax return, expect your tax refund (if you're geting one) to decrease slightly because of owed taxes on the bonus.
