As we all know the holidays are the most wonderful time of the year, and the most wonderful day within this wonderful period of time is rapidly approaching. That’s right, Christmas is this Sunday, meaning that your bank would be closed whether it were Jesus’ birthday or not.

So if you are one of those procrastinators that loves the thrill of waiting up until the last minute, then this is your time to shine as some banks are closing early tomorrow.

There’s all sorts of reasons you might want to hit the bank right before or right after Christmas. Maybe Santa will stuff your stocking with a fat roll of hundreds. Well, you’d want to get that into your bank account as soon as possible, right? Especially if you live in a bad neighborhood.

Totally. But it might not be possible. Tellers and loan officers have families, too, and they deserve a break. So with no further ado, here are the 20 biggest retail banks, and their hours for the Christmas weekend. Notice the variety!

Although all banks will be closed on Sunday, December 25, hours the day before and after vary. Two banks, TCF Financial and Citi bank, will have special hours tomorrow while all Citi branches will be closing at 2 PM on Saturday, TCF is only closing early at a handful of states across the Midwest. The majority of banks listed below will also be closed on Monday, so even if you aren’t anticipating the need to get there on Sunday, you may as well run all your Monday errands today and tomorrow.

We would be remiss if we failed to point out that for banks with locations in retail outlets, these hours may vary slightly. The list above applies only to standalone bank branches. Banks with locations within supermarkets often keep the same hours as the retail business that houses them.

Hopefully you won’t have a reason to wait in line at the bank around Christmas. Maybe you will. At least now you’ll know whether it’s even possible or not.

Check back with in a few weeks for New Year’s Bank hours but in the meantime our team wishes you a lovely, joyous Christmas.
