Virtual Wallet is an excellent way to do banking

I moved to PNC after some issues with TD. The way PNC can link your checking, savings, credit card and reserve account all togeter is a nice feature which protects you from overdraft fees. The online access is great and there is an iPhone app for it! Very happy after moving to this bank.

RUN! - and take your deposit with you

My wife and I recently decided to open a joint account. The institutions we were at either went under or got acquired by a larger bank. We decided on PNC and opened a joint checking account and a joint of credit line (which we were approved for). My first call with customer service was bad - the representative was rude and condescending. He made us feel stupid because we didn't know the answers to our questions (evidently, you have to activate your check card before you can register your account online. This is not mentioned anywhere). The guy was a jerk but I chalked it up to a one time thing.

I get the check card, activate it and try to get to online banking. I was locked out, so called to get unlocked. I answered all of the representatives questions but was unable to come up with the cent amount for my deposit. I gave her the dollar amount, date of the transaction and the branch, but she would not unlock my profile- she insisted on getting the cent amount. Five minutes later, I called again and another rep unlocked the account with only the dollar amount.

I was furious, I canceled the credit card and tried to close the checking account. I explained the bad customer service I received as the reason for closing the accounts and then, they still want to charge me a $25 dollar account cancellation. DO NOT BANK WITH PNC - it is a horrible institution that was no regard for their customers.
