My husband's corporation banks here. They send out direct deposits every Friday. I guess Bank of America thought since it is the holiday season it is not important to deposit the employees checks like they do every other Friday...Now some of the employees will not have their money until Monday when they depend on it weekly and have bills that come out of their accounts every Friday. Is Bank of America willing to pay the employees overdraft charges they will incur since the money for the bills was not there because BOA did NOT do their job and deposit it like they were supposed to; like they do every Friday? Of course not! All I have to say is Bank of America does not care about people. Their customer service is awful, and they do not take responsibility for their faults.
Mind you i went through bankruptcy, it has been discharged, judge himself faxed me papers to my job stating that my bankruptcy had been granted. On November 8th bank of america, approved me for a checking account, sent me our a nice debit card, i ordered checks, they sent me a handwritten welcome card and i also changed my direct deposit information over to them from my pre-paid Walmart money card that i have been using for almost the past year. Yesterday November 18th i get a letter in the mail stating, i'm still showing up on check alert and they have shut down my account. I would of rather someone notified me via phone or 7 days prior to my pay day being on the 20th.
I was on the phone with multiple people since i walked through the door yesterday, also on the phone with people today (back & fourth non sense and i got no where). I even contacted an attorney. Not sure anything can be done about this but my biggest issue is, my account is closed, but my payroll is still going through and will hard post to that bank of america account tomorrow but here's the deal they told me since the account is closed, i cannot access my own money. It is a long process to get my money out of that account. All again because they are stupid and their application procedure is bull crap. i look at it like this if i am applying online and you ask for my ssn to run a credit check why did they not just deny me then. Why send me a debit card etc then 1 week later close my account after I've transferred everything over to them. Now i cannot even pull my own money, you've got to be kidding me! I was told by other banks to try "smaller" banks because sometimes they are more lenient with bankruptcy etc and it so happens bank of america approved me right away so i thought i was in the clear. I don't have a penny to my name and people from bank of america don't want to return my calls ever since i told them i contacted a lawyer. I want to know why i got approved in the first place.
Forgot my debit card pin number. Looked online for helpful info or a phone number to call. Nothing to be found, neither by going through my online account nor on the BA website. Finally found a way to send a message to customer service.....will be back within 24 hrs! Amazing speed.... Had to google "BA, forgotten pin number" to find the BA's infocenter website where I was instructed to call the customer service phone number on the back of my card. OK, did that and went through way to many steps on the phone to finally reach a real person. I was told I have to go to my agency. Is that info so difficult to post on the BA's website and infocenter? Or if it is there already, then put it where customers can actually find it. This must not be such a rare problem. I have had bank accounts in two countries overseas, never encountered such a clumsy customer service.
