I was a customer of bank of america for eight years, i had a checking, savings and mortgage with them. They are terrible to deal with. Not only did they close my checking account as a few items were returned, no fault of mine, they never even gave me the courtesy of notification. On top of that they froze my account and charged me $35. 00 for each transaction they did not pay. I wrote to the new york state banking dept. And they are looking into it. The bank is too big. They do not care about you as a customer. My friend lost her job and was trying to get a mortgage modification and they promised a trial modification and never came through with it. She had to go to an attorney for help to keep her home. Every time you speak to customer service you get someone who never knows what is going on and they put you on hold forever. My advice, stay away. I am with a hometown bank now and no issues.
See other sdill post--- Update... after my 3 month nightmare. Still no resolution. I had to reapply for my card to be opened. They pulled me 3 times, making my credit score go even lower. They did reopen it to exactly the same way it was. No changes in % or anything. August stmnt had all charges reversed and yet still showed a cash advance with new % added. They were supposed to take away the cash advance thus no new %. They credited it back last month. I need to call again for have the cash advance and new % removed. I am exhausted by their mistakes and lies. But I will not give up. I still have 2 delinquent payments on my credit report, 3 hard inquires, a closing, and a reopening. They are the WORST EVER EVER! Estimate total hours spent 15+ and 20+ phone calls so far. WORST credit card bank EVER. Eleven years I spent with these incompetent, lying, jerks. I have spoken with many supervisors that don't care either. Friends have closed $20,000.+ in accounts and loans so far. I tell everyone about B of A.
This bank needs to care a little more about his customers who are paying their salaries.When they make a mistake, admitted and corrected in a reasonable time and manner.I made a payment to this bank, they did not credited to my account, went back to the bank with the receipt, they said that it got corrected,that I would receive a new statement. The only result was that they cancel my credit line and did not credit me anything for the payment I had made. This is definitely the shittiest excuse for a bank I have ever seen.Should have been left out to die for the way they treat customers.UNSAFE AT ANY SPEED.
