bank of america are thiefs

I am leaving bank of America, they victims of their own greed! I was charged multiple fees after I closed my account. To be more specific I was charged a monthly maintenance fee after I closed the account, then charged a non sufficient balance fee because the balance of the account was 0! Told by a rep that I needed a 0. Balance to close it

Dangerous credit card practice

With every credit card statement, BOA sends checks whic can be filled out for instant credit just as if you had written a check. These sit in the mailbox and could easily be taken and used by a thief. I asked them on multiple occasions to stop sending these to me but they keep coming. I am on my way to the bank to close out my checking and credit card accounts.

Inefficient and Outsourced

As a long term customer of Bank of America, a recent transaction that once took one week is now entering it's fifth week as unresolved. I have made three additional personal visits to my local branch, four contacts with the call center (two of which were disconnected in an attempt to transfer me because THEY did not have my branch's correct phone number- really?). The call center is answered by a foreign sounding accent person (probably no where near America), I had two different very patient supervisor level persons at the next level up from the call center send e-mails on two occasions to both Bank of America branch parties AND their regional Vice-President's.

I was told by both of those supervisor in very supportive language a verbal "assurance" each time that the expedited level tagged on their email on my behalf as a customer would get the transaction resolved in 24-48 hours (on which planet? One farther out in space?). At week three my local branch assistant manager, who coincidentally isn't at my branch this week (was he a trainee?), assured me resolve would occur by Tuesday and today is Wednesday past promise.

No branch answers their phone anymore, they are "with a client," so a call even amongst employees of different branches is diverted to the (foreign based) call center, thus, even employees of Bank of America can't get in touch with each other unless it is via email. Who is tending the shop? Go to a local bank that answers their own phone, has a staff of stable employees at the location, and is not outsourced to a call center. DO NOT open an account with Bank of America.

They are no longer the bank of my many years loyalty. Within a matter of months I will divorce myself of Bank of America. They are no longer my local bank, do not keep a stable consistent local work force, and cannot efficiently resolve what a call center supervisor herself described my transaction to be an "easy transaction." The are loosing my business. Stay away.
