I don't usually post negative things, I'm a deal with it and move on kinda girl, but this one is a bit frustrating and without the availability of a clear "why now?" for the situation, I am hoping someone is paying attention to my comments.
Ally is great with the short weight times, and the litany of questions to prove your identity isn't all that bad, but they have moved away from one call resolution (if you'r going out of state, country etc., expect to be transferred to different departments for it be processed.)
Minor frustrations. We deal and move on.
What has me a little hot under the collar is the fact that an e-deposit that I make every month from the same account within $50-$100 different each time is suddenly being held for 2 weeks with no real explanation.
I know the funds were in the other account, the check has already cleared that account, but I can't access the funds in my ally account for another week because the hold is at the banks discretion. I waited one whole week before calling them tonight to be sure there wasn't some delay due to weather or whathaveyou. It's just in the fine print--they can hold your funds whenever they feel like it..
Ok, fine. I can understand that especially if it's a new transfer, and I was very polite with the CS Rep who gave me this bad news because she doesn't make the rules, but my goodness! I'm upset. This isn't new, nothing has changed that I can see, and unfortunately the girl on the line couldn't tell me anything.
My mortgage will be late because they are holding my money for 2 weeks and I can't get a why to see if there is something I can do to clear it up. This really feels like a tipping point because now Ally is causing me a late fee, that wouldn't usually have happened. I plan ahead. I make provisions, but I didn't realize I needed to plan for this.
Ally is disappointing me here, greatly. Time to vote with my feet and take my money elsewhere.
I tried opening a new account with Ally Bank and they refused to open the account because my wife of 46 years has no credit in her own name. This is the first and only bank in our 46 years of marriage that refused us.
I would not try to get an account with Ally.
Customer service is rude does not comprehend English and they do not understand how to do their jobs. They call 10 times a day even after you talk to them 3 times a day. If you decide to buy a car don't use Ally.
