Absolutely The "america Most Inconvenient Bank", Horrible Experience

Applied a loan with the bank and basically i am working with robot during the process. The person who deal with my loan is not a professional and did not ask the right question. It is a totally wasting my time (20+ days) and money ($500+). Emails do not work well, fax is the only way to communicate and many time even not work. I have to fax the same documents again and again couple time and they still claim not received them. I have to print them out and bring them to the local branch, and they still send me auto-generated emails saying missing documentations.

Unbelievable. I filed a complain with their mortgage department, they do not even bother to return my email. I applied new mortgage and several refinance before and all of those are very straightforward and never has a problem. I always have a person to work with and call will be picked or returned. My calls to td always go to voice mail and the voice mail stated they will return my call within 6 business hours, but i never got any returned calls. I do not understand why they even bother to have a such broken mortgage processing department. They should all be fired. How they can claim america's most convenient bank? It is truly a shame. Stay away from them for any loan application. I won't recommend it for anyone.

TD Bank: A Wolf in Santa's Clothing !

The way I see it, TD bank is a predatory institution in the guise of a friendly neighboring bank. I have maintained a checking and a savings account with this bank for quite some time. I have never taken a loan or even a credit card from them and have always had a positive balance in my accounts until .....

Initially I used to have my paycheck deposited to TD but then switched over to a bank on my companies premises just because it was more convenient. So I closed down the TD savings account but still maintained a checking account with them mainly because I sometimes visit family in Canada and thought that having an account with a Canadian bank would make it easier to withdraw and exchange currency when I am there.

However, one Saturday evening, I make a withdrawal from a TD ATM machine using my TD debit card which brings my checking account below 100. Unknown to me and without any warning, they hit me with a fine of $15 and repeatedly keep doing so every 10 days. Their repeated fines push the account into the red zone and then they hit me with an insane overdraft fee !! So now I owe them $80 !!!

Wow ... if converted to an interest rate, even the worst credit cards have a lower interest rate than that and that for loans that they actually give out to you ... and I didn't take a single dime on loan from TD but actually gave them my business !!!

I understand that most banks have a predatory instinct but some banks are worse than others ... so I am done with TD which in my opinion is the worst bank that I have dealt with ! They certainly do get you in through the front door with smiling faces, free pens, biscuits for your pet dog etc etc etc, but its through the fine print that these smiling Shylocks really get you where they want you to be.... If TD really were a trustworthy financial institution, they could very easily modify their ATM user interface to flash a warning ... but then that would not be in their best interests would it ?

So folks if you decide to go with

How about reading the paper work.

I worked in the customer service over the phone for TD bank. I've read more then half of the reviews from these people and you are all being just ridiculous. Do not get me wrong TD has it's moments where they do something completely uncalled for or just plain stupid, but for the most part TD is a good bank. You all want to complain or whine or say about how TD robbed you. READ THE PAPER WORK, that's what it's there for! When they took over Riverside and the former Riverside customers started complaining about the Monthly maintenance fee's, one question I would always ask did you receive your checks and debit card. Of course the answer was always yes, well guess what buddy the paperwork was in that packet! There is a part where you need to grow up and take responsibility for YOUR money. The OD fee's I understand a little more but most people who call in and say " I DIDN'T KNOW!" That's crap too. The customer service reps are noting accounts, if your rude it's noted when you are educated on how pending and posted transactions work it's noted. So seriously stop trying to pull bullsh*t. When you've had 100's of dollars worth of fees. You people also need to understand that if a rep is being rude. How about you try being nice to someone calling you a c*nt or a*shole or d*ckhead because you are unable to manage your account. There is only so much a person can take. I just love how most of the "complainers" are talking about fee's go ahead and move banks because if you overdraft your account EVERY financial institution has the right to charge overdraft fees! If you want to avoid them then MANAGE YOUR MONEY!
