Very unprofessional and horrible service.

I have my home loan with Flagstar bank for last 3 years, there was a horrible experience to deal with this lender. They made all kind of errors but never want to fix it, Their unprofessional and error were waster my time and my money. They charged your money for their mistake. I contacted to the loan servicing, but their rude and unprofessional service which I never ever had before. They play all kind of games to cover their mistakes. One time, I need to travel so I payed the monthly mortgage payment couple of days ahead, so I would not miss the payment. Couple of month later I found they charged me for $1200.00 late fee, I was shorted and called them to requested them to correct it, but the banker was so unprofessional and rude, she told me that they put my mortgage payment to my house principal without my knowledge, I told them I would not like it and try to let them to make correction. They refused to do so and yelling at me badly, For avoid the later fee I than I payed another $1340.00 check for that monthly payment, but they still charged me $1200 later fees. Totally I lost more than $2500 because of their mistake. When every time I called and talked to them, they are just so unfriendly, and they not only wasted my time and lost my trust but also made me and my family very unhappy. Here I share my experience to everyone, try to avoid business with Flagstar. Horrible service, big headache, trouble maker. I am so happy finally I got another loan and don't need to deal with them forever..... Read more

Peoples United Bank In CT "HORRIBLE"

If you live on LI and are looking to get a mortgage thru Peoples United Bank forget it. The customer service (mortgage Dept) from the CT people to NY is aweful. They have no intention to help you figure out what they are looking for. It is like pulling teeth. To many complaints to list. But I went to upper management and started to get answers butthe bottom line is the underwriters in CT are aweful~ I am now going to get my mortgage thru a professional lender because they want me for a customer not like People United Bank. .

President Obama's mortgage plan from an Independent mortgage professional's point of view

There seems to be so much political ranting from the left and from the right these days it seems that "truth" gets lost in the arguements. I am not a Democrat or a Republican but a card carrying conservative Independent. That being said we as Americans need to quit taking what opinions talking heads on cable TV give to us and start doing our own research. In this particular instance I agree with Obama and his administration. The facts are that these loans that would be available for rate reduction are already on the books of FNMA and FHLMC (thus the taxpayers) and are current. Allowing them to refinance to today's rates without an appraisal is the right thing to do. This helps the borrowers out there who have done the RIGHT thing in this housing mess and would pump billions of additional disposable income into the economy. Also note that GNMA (FHA and VA loans) have had a similar program in place for decades, it is called a streamline. Taking that knowledge into account with the fact that banks and bankers WOULD NOT be required to hold on to the loans (they would just revert back to FNMA and FHLMC at lower monthly payments)and knowing how successful similar programs are and have been for a long time I can't for the life of me figure out why those who truly want to protect the taxpayer's investments and spur the economy on would be against such a program... Unless it's for purely political purposes. Read more
