eBay Inc's PayPal unit, which allows consumers to pay for goods online, is running a trial of in-store payments with Home Depot, one of the largest retailers in the U.S., a spokesman said on Friday.
A pilot program for PayPal's new point-of-sale, or POS, technologies is being run in five Home Depot stores and involves a "small number" of PayPal employees, the PayPal spokesman Anuj Nayar added.

This doesn't seem necessary. You can request a PayPal Debit Card, so why PayPal would have to test something like this seems unnecessary.

@fszcze Very true, but much like NFC technology found with Google Wallet, it seems PayPal is attempting to skip the need for a device or card all together.
The pilot program by PayPal and Home Depot utilizes phone numbers as payment credentials. It is among many other payments technologies that the company is supposedly testing - guess they are seeing which one is best.

MangoMoney now offers billpay.
Billpay services via Billeo. Lack of billpay was a major negative for Mango on recent prepaid card reviews/comparisons. Not sure why the company is being so quiet about it...no mention on it's website. Read more

I am working on a project that keeps track of current state legislative and ballot initiatives to cap interest rates charged by payday loan companies. Consumer protection groups call such loans "predatory" due to their triple digit APRs which are blamed for the debt problems many people experience when they can't meet the loan payments. Read more
