Total Disaster! (Business Credit Card)
I don't know if it is because this company is unethical, incompetent or both, but here are the reasons I have closed my account and recommending that nobody do business with this company.
About three months after I got the account my statements stopped coming in the mail. I did NOT sign up for electronic delivery because it's for my business and I like to have a paper record. So I was late with one payment ($39.00 late fee plus interest) because of that. After complaining they suggested I signed up for "auto pay". I followed their instructions precisely to do that.
Next month, I get a call that the card is "past due". The auto pay never took effect. Another $39.00 late charge and interest. At that point I told them I was paying off the card and cancelling the account.
I suspect that they do this so that they can collect interest and late fees since I rarely carry a balance on credit cards, the interest rates are far too high.

Credit card customer service
I called credit card customer service today (I wish I hadn't). I spoke to Rose at the TF# on the credit card statement. My intent was to obtain the pay off balance so I could pay it off today. The cust. svc agent was very unhelpful and even to the point of being snide. She says "we don't give out that information". My reaction was really? Then I thought ok I will pay my bill on line on their website and add a few dollars more. NO!, the d**** web site won't let you pay more than the balance. ARGHHH. So I set up bill pay account on my checking account. I paid the full balance and then I'll wait a few days and pay a couple of extra bucks. I am done with the cc company.

This bank sucks!
I hate this bank. I used them exclusively for a credit card. They would make phone calls before a payment was even due, and then they charge a late fee if you pay on the due date, but not at the time that they like. They have extremely rude associates, and I hate dealing with them.

Shadow Loan didn't end well
I applied for an $11k unsecured loan at 1st National Bank back in the heyday of easy credit (2006) and loose banking standards. When I opened the account, they sent me six years worth of payment books which are used for submitting monthly payment checks on the loan. During the Financial Crisis in 2008, the bank mysteriously changed my account number on the loan, but the truly bizarre thing was they refused to give me the new account number! So I continued paying on the loan using the payment slips I was sent when the loan was opened. Fast forward a few years to the loan maturity date when I had finally made my last payment on the loan. It was then that I discovered the bank had tacked on an additional $2k in fees on my loan when the account number changed, and they had been charging me a total of $2k in interest on the fees since then! Naturally I refused to pay as this seemed like obvious fraud to me. The bank didn't seem to mind, they just wrote off the bogus amount for reimbursement from the Fed, and ruined my FICO credit score. I've tried on couple occasions the last several years to settle the disputed amount with the bank, but they have refused all reasonable offers. I feel like a chump for paying on the loan all those years, as the effect on my credit would have been no different had I not paid them at all...

WARNING!
Be very careful when dealing with this company....you might get caught off-guard and in a real bind! When I opened a credit card account with this company, I was given a VERY generous credit limit of $2,650. I NEVER paid late and even ALWAYS paid early...most of the time with more than the minimum due! With no notice at all (and they have ALL my contact information) my credit limit was lowered to $1,700. I had even just made a huge payment on the card of $1,000. So, what I had been out of the country and had planned to use this card to purchase my tickets to fly home? What if I had just gone to make a major purchase and the purchase was denied. Wow....NO NOTICE at all. I just happened to check the account to verify that the $1,000 payment had been made and noticed the lowered credit limit. I called and received the run around and general BS. I will be paying off the remaining balance on this card soon and will I cancel it....NO....will I use it again so they can make money off of me....ABSOLUTELY NOT!

My family has been banking with FNBO for over 100 years!!
My family has been banking with First National of Omaha for over a hundred years.
I've only had the best customer service - never an issue that could not be worked out quickly!!
Once one of their ATM broke during my transaction. Within a week I received a letter saying they where sorry and had a 5 dollar bill enclosed for any inconvenience the broken ATM may have caused me.
Another time, I had to close down a savings account with them and transfer the money to my checking account. The person made a mistake and closed my checking account down and transferred my money to savings account. I realized this mistake on a late Saturday afternoon. I called at 6pm on a Saturday and someone picked up and fixed the problem within the hour. My credit line connected to the checking account was reopened on that following Monday with a followup call from that department checking to see if everything was good.
I now live in Texas - but I can still bank with FNBO - they have branches in the north DFW area!!!

Horrible
We have been working on a construction/mortgage loan for 3 months with this bank. In October 2012 we were told if we sold our current home that we would close that same week and that we would only need money for closing. We moved into an apartment signing a 6-month lease in December 2012 with a mortgage commitment letter from First National Bank of Omaha.
After moving we received an e-mail stating that we could move forward with the mortgage closing if we brought $22,000. This is after our free and clear 4 acres that the bank will be holding-credit of $45,000. We also have been saving every penny and have $17,000 in checking. The mortgage officer didn't have time to talk to us on the phone after that shocking e-mail. Also, her numbers were wrong. We only need to bring $14,900 to closing plus closing costs. (Loan 232,000-build cost 246,900. Closing fees $3,600) She said they wants 6-months mortgage reserve.
We came up with a plan to withdraw the rest from our 401K. She then unapproved our mortgage loan. She said, "This is what happens when you try to build a house with no assets." I don't see where we are short.
The loan officer is very rude. She told me to just go and buy a house. She also told me to try another bank.
We don't know what to do at this point. We were told the mortgage boss would "hold her hand" through the rest of this. But, she still sends ridiculous requests via e-mail. We asked that our file goes to someone else that we can work with. She rudely apologized for our "personalities not meshing".
This far we have paid for the appraisal ($475), surveyor ($900) and well permits ($150).
She is going to submit it to underwriting again tomorrow but said we would need $9,000. I am confused $9,000 more for what?
We are a month behind on building already. We needed to be in our home by August 2014 for the new school year. Her suggestion was to open enroll in the school district. That would be an option if the school wasn't 45 minutes away.Is this review helpful?
