Switched from Wells Fargo and never been happier!
What an excellent experience. Despite having very healthy deposits with Wells Fargo, I always felt like a number there and when I needed them, they would not take care of my needs. As I went to open a business and got put through the wringer with Wells Fargo only to be denied the funding, I went to Frost as my last option (not being a customer with them, yet) and they rolled out the red carpet and the process couldn't have been smoother. The local team in New Braunfels is so friendly, knowledgable and supportive, I honestly feel like I'm part of a family now. I hated going to the bank before, now I love it. Wish I'd made the switch a long time ago. Moved all of my accounts to Frost!

Usually great service, sometimes that one bad seed ruins it all
I usually to always have a good relationship with Frost Bank - their in-person customer service is top-notch and helpful. Today's experience was no different EXCEPT FOR the actual person who was helping me with the deposit. Her attitude from the get-go was off-putting, awkward, and unprofessional. It was all in the tone and body language. In closing she didn't inform me that she put my 2 cards plus receipt on the ledge next to me (I was distracted with explaining some stuff to my 5-year old). I saw the stuff and asked if we were done. A short "Yes". My reply was an elongated "Okay". Today's service is a 1.

Consistent Bad Experience
Check card ordering delayed for what? Checks ordered in person, sent to previous address and in limbo after 6 mo. Who takes blank temporary checks and where were the fraud concern then? Bank unreasonable and controlling of my money. Bank forcing customers through an unreasonable two step verification. So you know account ending in xxxx and what it was for 8 years ago? Promised acct. would remain my decision to freeze acct.when fraud suspected as promised by 2 phone reps and 2 managers and that was a lie leaving my daughter and I stranded in another state until I called in to retell the same story. Yes I got mad and angry because my kid started crying because I couldn't get access to my funds. "Poor manger" having to spend time with me on the phone, one call after a year of banking. No follow through by branch manager bc she denied what she stated. Then after agreement, when I called next day, when it was "imperative" for me to cancel the card, acct. left open. Apparently it must not have been much of an emergency, and when I got upset out of sheer frustration and stress, get told that I have 30 days to close my account and as a courtesy give 30 days rather than an immediate closing knowing I have outstanding checks. So I get screwed out of my check order money. Why wasn't she as concerned the following day after what the stress and lies caused by them?? (driving two wasted hours to purchase a lift ticket to ski bc the bank freezing my card for 'fraud". Irregardless if fraud was detected no one but me wasted time , gas, and money bc of their forced decisions. Since when do I have to beg for a say so with my own money??Trying to work with bank, promised help, and then being denied help. False promises. No recourse for their misleading and lying info. Then told me that I get to leave the bank and they close out my account regardless of my choice. Nice to know they can kick you out for NO REASON other then they despise you. The bank claims to be progressive, but actually backwards. Intentionally locking my account. Promised atm fees returned when I pulled funds in the State of Colorado only due to heavy travel there and then told again, it will be done as a mere courtesy. You are right, I picked the wrong bank, but leaving is my decision. I am always the bad person because I refuse to accept poor customer service and advocate for myself.

Going Downhill
I've been a customer for years. If you only need checking, this is the bank for you. With a credit score 730, I was unable to obtain a line of credit (checking supplement) or a auto loan.
In my four years, I've never experienced an overdraft or any negative marks prior.
The lending is incredibly strict. Why should I use one bank for loans and another for checking? Frost is making it incredible hard to do business with.
Their response: Our online banking now lets you link your outside Frost account. Too little, too late.

Love this bank
When Frost first inhabited the spot vacated by Centennial, I was unhappy about another bank in a neighborhood of too many. But I did learn when I dropped by their chuck wagon (grand opening) on my way out of Starbucks that they were not one of the behemoths like Bank of America who caused the Great Recession of 08' and, instead, were a small bank interested in loaning money rather than making risky speculative investments. But since I had had an account with another small bank -- Credit Union of Texas-- for the past twenty years, I wasn't looking to switch.
Sometime after that, I noticed I was getting charged $9.00 a month in checking fee and apparently had been for years. Went to Frost and they assured me that if I had direct deposit each month of an amount I can't remember now but it seems like it was $125.00 or so, I wouldn't have to pay any checking fee. Irritated that I, a great customer, had been dinged for $108.00 a year for God knows how long by my previous bank, I promptly switched my account to Frost and have been thrilled. It's much much closer than my old bank on Ross. No checking fee. They open the door when they see me coming and offer cold water or coffee. I can use my debit card to open the locked bank foyer (which locks behind me) after hours and feel safe withdrawing money from the ATM. I've had a Vice President of the branch call to check on me with regard to my banking needs. I can't say enough good things about Frost and its employees.

BEST BANKING EXPERIENCE...EVER
So the nation thrifts: Chase, Wells Fargo, Citi, and B of A are the bullies compared to Frost.
When you call, a person directly answers; normally on the first ring. All business and customer service is in Texas (San Antonio) unlike the big guys sending you over to India.
After opening an account online; I received a welcome phone call who offered to assist with bill pay and direct deposit questions. A few weeks later, I received a follow up, just to make sure things were going well and that I was happy with the product.
There are NO fees for a transfer from savings to your checking as part of overdraft. The big guys charge $10-$12 for this measly automated computer transfer.

Absolutely Amazing
Absolutely amazing. I've been with the big three (Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and Chase), Frost just wows you from day one.
All customer services is in the State of Texas. They answer the phone live -- no phone tree or begging and automated for a person. Best of all: no outsourced calls to India!
You receive a personal banker who provides their direct number to assist all your needs. Online services match that of bigger banks and exceeds! Change your debit pin, suspend your debit card, report it stolen- all online.
Now that their customer service is 24/7, its only better. Also, check our their Texas Ratio; they don't do mortgages or credit card. No toxic assets on their balance sheet.
