Horrible Service
Just stopped at the local Fulton Bank to get change for a twenty dollar bill for our yard sale. I was amazed they wouldn't give me change because I didn't have an account with them. Rest assured Fulton, I and my family of 6 will never have an account with you now. I will also be sure tell everyone I know about this incident and post it in all my social media accounts.

Racist Jerks work here.
Banked here years ago(early 00s), the manager said I looked like a "beaner" and would call the cops on me often when I was going to do things like deposit my check. They ended up closing my account on me and keeping one of my paychecks I deposited as a "fine".
I still occasionally meet one of the prior tellers here who reminds me of this, although I have on several times requested that if they were going to use a racial slur to please use the correct one. My mother is Native American and Italian and I'm sure there is something in there that could be applicable. Is this review helpful? -

Charged my Account for someone else's check.
First I have a lot of gripes about how online banking never seems to work properly. It does not stay updated with all accounts and constantly goes out of sync and in a mobile-first world this should work properly. Beyond this, my main reason for this review is that Fulton put someone else's check through my account when the check account number did not match my account number. I had $131 taken out of my account instead of someone else's account. I had to call up Fulton's support in a hurry and was forced to go through intense questioning to fix the discrepancy in my account. Fulton has caused me nothing but issues before and I think this is the final straw that will send me over, I am ready to go with a bank that I know will not put my money in jeopardy and randomly take money out of my account!!!

Shillington branch
This is not our regular branch, but we had an appointment snd this branch was on the way.
We were the only car at the drive up but waited 10 minutes for our transaction to be taken care of. The teller informrd us that she was training and would be with us shortly. Well, 10 minutes later my husband yelled that we had to leave. She became insulted, adopted an attitude, and rudely asked if we wanted to cash the check. I had signed it, put my account number on the back, and enclosed my license. What did she think I wanted to do?
If training is more important than satisfying a customer, I will change banks! Is this review helpful?

While the people I dealt with were pleasant, my experience was not. I opened a checking and savings account with Fulton in late 2012. I left them late 2013, though they aren't making it easy. I opened those accounts specifically stating they are not for earning interest or any sort of profitable savings. They were for emergency expenses if needed. So, I put a lump of money in at one time and left it go. At one point, I pulled out a large sum because I needed it, leaving around $100 in the account. I didn't bother building it back up because I was unsure what I wanted to do with my account at Fulton, so I just left it sit. After about 3 months, I noticed it was below $90, when I knew I had over $100. I contacted Fulton about it and they claimed I signed up for a special interest bearing account (0.2% isn't very special), and that it has a $5 fee every month for maintaining it. I was never told this. The clerk, or someone else signed me up for it without my consent. Then, when I was already mad, I withdrew all my money in the account that remained and requested that ALL my accounts at Fulton be closed permanently. One month later I receive a letter stating that I have a negative $5 balance in my savings account (THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE CLOSED) and need to pay immediately or I will be charged $6/day. So, in summation, they signed me up for an account I specifically did not want, without my consent. They proceeded to blame me for it, and when I called them on it and "closed my accounts permanently," they only closed my checking, but left the savings account open to incur fees I never signed up for in the first place. I'm a young financial services professional, and I will tell every client to avoid Fulton like the plague. I hope their $100+ dollars they stole from me was worth a future 30 years or more of me discrediting them in front of thousands of current and future clients, hopefully resulting in a loss of hundreds of thousands of assets under management for them.

Fulton Herndon
Herndon Branch I must say the lobby staff at this branch is wonderful. i came into the branch to make a deposit and to inquire about CD interest rates. The teller informed me that i would need to speak to the gentleman at the fron desk(John) Mr. Pappas was very helpful and knowledgeable about information that i was inquiring about. Mr. Pappas discussed the interest rates, time lengths and no penalty CD's. he even took the time out and calulated how much interest I would earn if I deposited a certain amount of money. About a week later I received an advertisement for 1.25 interest so I came into the branch and asked for Mr. Pappas. He explained the interest rates, again very helpful and now I have a new account. The employees here at this branch are wonderful.

Herndon Branch
I was in the Herndon Branch inquiring about CD rates and my existing IRA with John Pappas at the desk. He did not seem confident in what he was telling me regarding CD's and IRA's. He needs a bit more training. He seemed very flustered and nervous. I have seen him work at this particular location for more than 5 years and I'm not sure why he seemed so uncertain about the services that the bank provides. I would not trust him with handling my banking affairs, however I called back later the same day and spoke with another gentlemen at this location and he was very helpful and seemed to know what he was talking about. Please be sure your branches are staffed with trained people. I have always avoided this guy when I come in, however everyone that I was familiar with has left this branch. As soon as my CD's come due, I am going elsewhere. I have made the prior manager aware that I would be pulling my money within the next year or so.

Not a big fan of the invasion of privacy!
Not a big fan of Fulton Bank right now!!!! We've done business with them for years both personally and professionally. They suggested we refinance our line of credit to get a lower percentage rate. While I appreciate them for that I am so frustrated at the hoops they are making us jump thru to lower the interest rate on a line of credit we have had for years. It is only for about 1/3 of the value of our home - 10 years ago! It was secure then...they have exterior photos of our home which now include a beautiful garage that wasn't there before, thus raising the property's value. Why they need to come through my home and take photos of every single room is beyond me! It is really frustrating too because I am not home most of the time and my house is absolutely not show case ready. I'm not sure why I need to get it ready for a photoshoot just to drop a percentage on a loan that we've had forever. ... not to mention what a huge invasion of privacy this is!!!! We are not even asking to increase the line of credits value!!!! I couldn't be more upset right now!

If you even think about getting a mortgage here, RUN
I had an arrangement with Special Services Rep, Jessica Fuller. She lied to me and then told her VP that she "could not remember our conversation" but she was sure she had not agreed to what I KNOW she agreed to. Now they are trying to collect over one thousand dollars in late fees that never would have been assessed if Jessica Fuller had not told me what she told me. Furthermore, you have to mail or personally take your mortgage payments to a branch office. If you mail them to the "mortgage department" they will somehow get delayed in the mail, not make it on time and you will be assessed a late charge. The BRANCH people told me that!
Pure scam artists!!

Incompetence at it's best
Incompetence at it's best!
I took out a residential construction loan for a new home. Due to the weather, we needed to sign an extension agreement, and per their instructions, continued to pay only interest on the construction loan. A month later, I got an email from a person telling me that I was late on the interest payment and it would affect my credit rating. Then I got a call and letter from the mortgage group (a different department) telling me I was in default for the entire mortgage! I told them about the extension, and they said "Our department was not notified - sometimes this gets lost in the process. We'll straighten it out." I continued to make interest payments on the construction loan per the bills. The construction was completed recently, and the construction loan was converted to the final mortgage, and a full mortgage payment was made. TWO WEEKS LATER, my credit monitoring service tells me that Fulton reported me in default of THE ENTIRE MORTGAGE AMOUNT!! Calling EVERYONE involved and their SUPERVISORS and getting NOWHERE. NOBODY IS ACCOUNTABLE AT THIS BANK!

Horrible experience.....
Constant "Blocks" on my card for "MY safety". Over 15 times from purchases ranging from $20.00 to $4,000.00.
Limits on ATM withdraws with no way to increase it
Random bank charges from Fulton on my account
Refusal to allow me to close my account without a notarized letter.
Refusal to allow me to change my address without going to a branch with a signed & notarized letter. This is after they "could not find" the change of address form that I filled out and hand delivered to them 8 times over a span of 2 years. The address was never properly updated.
Set debit limits and refuses to provide access to my money on numerous occasions
On numerous occasions the bank was unable to fill a withdraw due to lack of funds at their location. The most recent event was after the account was inactive since 5/1/15 with zero notice to me, sent a bill to a collector for $280.00 with no explanation. They state if I do not pay this amount, with no information to support it, they will report against my credit score. I have amazing credit and never missed a bill in my entire life.
This bank is like a plague. Avoid it, if you are not an 80 year old woman with a set bill paying schedule and visit the branch weekly to withdraw your bank approved "allowance" you will be bound to have major issues. My entire experience with them makes me feel that their sole function is to keep as much of my money as they can. This bank has now been a 4 year journey through the pits of hell as I try to remove them from my life. The torment they bring to their clients is pure evil and never ending.
I wish I could rate these scumbags less than 1 star.

Worst Bank I have EVER Used
This bank does NOT have a 24-hour number that you can call for assistance. Who has ever heard of a bank without a 24-hour number? If you have a Fulton "credit card" there is a 24-hour number, but not only can they do NOTHING for you if you have your money in a Fulton Bank and need help with your debit/bank card, they can't even provide any phone numbers, because there ISN'T one. The credit card customer service is a third-party entity (subcontractors) who have nothing to do with the bank itself.
Just like Christmas 2014, once again as Christmas 2015 approaches, my transactions are blocked over and over again for no legitimate reason, but because I dared to make a purchase more than 10 miles from where I live, and in a different state. For god's sake this is 2015!! It is Christmas shopping time!! People order items from all over the world. They operate like it's the 1950s!
A transaction was blocked for the second time in less than a week at the EXACT same Best Buy in NJ. And I live all the way in PA!! God forbid I should choose to purchase something in an entirely different state!! I explained this ridiculousness to them the first time, and they ASSURED me that the "block" was removed and I wouldn't have ANY future problems. Just days later, same exact issue all over again. I am trying to get through to them to take the block off my card, and there is literally not a SOUL available to speak to (they are only available until 8 pm!!) as I dare to shop online after their "bankers hours." Yet when I complained about this last year and AGAIN this year, they INSIST they provide 24-hour banking. What a scam and what a joke!
These purchases are completely time-sensitive, as they are electronics on limited sales. By the time I get someone from the bank to actually help, the sale price will most likely be over. I have nearly $200,000 in this bank and this is the treatment I get? Well, they can kiss my money good-bye, because tomorrow I go to the bank and withdraw all of it, every last penny. Good Riddance!!
