    Worse Credit Card Company on the Planet

    I have had a credit card with Citibank for about 20 years, in the beginning I used the card all of the time. But within the last 10 years I rarely used the card, because this company offered very little incentives, it failed to compete with other companies who offers cashback with no strings attached. Although, Citibank offers cash back, you need a PHD to figure out how to redeem them. Whenever you asked the customer service reps for help with cashback they always transfer you somewhere or give you a website to go and you end up nowhere. Today I checked my mail to find a letter from the company stating they closed my credit card because I am not a good fit for their company. WELL, THAT IS JUST FINE WITH ME. I WILL NEVER EVER DO BIUSINESS WITH CITIBANK AGAIN AND I WOULD ENCOURAGE EVERYONE TO DROP THIS SORRY EXCUSE FOR A CREDIT CARD COMPANY. YOU DID NOT DESERVE MY BUSINESS ANY WAY! GOOD RIDDINGS!

    Bank with caution

    I read a lot of reviews before I applied to open a Basic Checking account with Citibank. I applied online and had to fax in my signature card and it takes about 2 weeks to receive your Debit card. After receiving your debit card and pin which comes a day or 2 separately, setting up online banking is very easy & then I funded my account through a mobile deposit with a Money Order & funds were available immediately. *** I agree with the negative reviews regarding customer service. Citi has a trillion #s and no one is helpful at all or seem to have answers. As soon as I set up online banking I changed my Debit Card Pin. I noticed 2 missed calls from Citibank about 1hr later. The next morning I received an email notifying me that my account was locked until I contacted the fraud department. To make a long story short because my account was new & I changed my PIN number it triggered a fraud alert which was removed after I answered a few security questions. So far I am not starting direct deposit and I will bank with caution until I feel more comfortable with Citibank.

    No Attempt Whatsoever to Fix Problem

    Holy cow! After 20 years with Citibank, they actually let me cancel my account today due to a problem -- rather than make any effort at all to fix the problem.

    This violates every aspect of quality marketing. According to INC. Magazines article titled 8 Ways to Delight Your Customer Today ...most people only express a concern if they truly feel unhappy or uncomfortable. Show personal attention when someone has a complaint. Don't just dismiss it with lame excuses. Ask questions to determine the root of a problem, and ask for their input on a resolution. Then tell the person how you plan to fix it, and follow up to show them what you've done.

    Ha! Citibank, which was once lauded as the model for outstanding customer service, has fallen very far down the list. And I got the message today loud and clear: loyalty means nothing and they don't need or want my business.
