I was an HSBC customer that was transferred over to FNFG. To begin, it took 4 months to get a new debit card. They claimed they sent multiple cards, but i never received them. Every time i called to check on my card their records did not show i ever ordered one! Now they are hitting me with a 3 dollar maintenance fee for the e checking account after i spoke to the representative and made it very clear i wanted all account with no fees. I was assured over and over that all my accounts were free. That simply is not the case. This bank is horrible. Do not give them your business. I have cancelled all my accounts and taken my business elsewhere.
First Niagara bank doesn't deserve any stars! First off since I got a car loan through them they have not sent me any statements, I have had the car over a year. I have gone to the bank several times to ask why and they tell me they have the wrong address, so I give them the correct address and I still do not receive statements.
Next, I moved out of state and had to change banking information so I can continue my automatic payments. Again several times I have sent them the same paperwork at there request and there still saying they have not received anything and there is no paper trail. Since ive been trying to change banking info I have missed 1 payment and there threatening me with a repossession because they have lost my paperwork several times!
I signed up for a checking account so I could pay my credit card balance with it. When I attempted to pay my bill with my checking account they transferred me multiple times around 5 and put my on hold at least a dozen. I was on the phone for 40 minutes just trying to pay a 10 dollar bill. They won't allow you to use another bank or card to pay for it. They won't let you transfer funds from 1 first Niagara account to another either. I asked to do this and they told me it couldn't be done and that I should call back later. Its bullshit the only way to actually pay my bill is to physically go to the branch wait in line and give them the money. This is ridiculous for a company that talks about "web banking" and "automatic bill pay" don't let them fool you they make it as big a pain in the ass as possible to actually pay a bill. I am canceling my account today and pulling my money out of the first Niagara accounts because frankly they suck.
