Banking Actions
I have never dealt with such an absurd bank. They are in for their bottom line and don't care about their customers at all. I had a personal crisis and had to use all funds available. I have my bills set up on bill pay. I went into my account and canceled all pending payments and they all came back, cancelation sucessfull. They were not in the stage of processing. I assumed these bills were canceled because they sent back - cancelation sucessful. The payment of these bills were not stopped by the bank and now I am being charged a $38.00 fee for each bill. When I called the bank, all they would say was that it was to late to cancel. I would think a bank in business would have parameters set up to prevent this from happening so a customer would know. I feel it's just a trap and a means to take your money.

TERRIBLE SERVICE
We have been customers for nearly 50 years and have several accounts. I wanted to make a simple deposit today. People were lined up 6 cars deep. Some left. What moron decided to renovate the Ann Arbor Road office and only offer one drive through on Saturdays. It took 20 min. for 6 people to be serviced, no fault of the one lady on duty. I will be looking for another bank to service my needs. Comerica is no longer servicing customers the way it once did. Every time we come to this branch, and weve used it for years, we leave annoyed.

IS THIS PLACE A JOKE? ARE WE ON CAMERA?
Our business gets a refund check in the mail. It states refund for card balance. I called the bank's 800 # because we're not in MI. The CSR tells me that due to privacy, I need to take the check to OUR bank and have them call the 800 # to see if there's enough funds. THEY DO NOT KNOW IF THEY HAVE ENOUGH FUNDS IN THEIR OWN BANK? HAHAHAHA!!!! That's when I asked if I was on candid camera (yes that'll show you my age) and clearly asked if this was a freakin joke!!!!!!!!! She said well, the only thing I can tell you is if the bank account is opened or closed. UMMMM WHAT A WASTE OF MY BANKS TIME!!!!!!!!!!! We're a repair shop in a completely different state so customers have paid us through their online banking. However, the amount doesn't match any outstanding balance and it's made from COMERICA CARD OPERATIONS. We have NO card so now that this bank sucks clearly through the reviews I have read, but they suck so bad that they're now scamming people in other states to recoup money? I say that because that's the only thing I can think of them doing at this point. JERKS!

Do not get a HELOC from Comerica
We obtained a HELOC from Comerica in December 2017. Since then it has been a nightmare trying to gain access to the money. I wrote a check from the account but the loan department would not approve it. The HELOC department did not even have record of our HELOC account. In addition, at the time, there were some type of changes at the bank and I was directed to several numbers to call. I finally went to the VVL branch. I spent 45 minutes at the VVL branch trying to get the loan department to approve the amount (not even near the full line of credit) since the Mesa branch is too far from my home. Finally, the branch (also after several attempts and numbers to call), reached someone in the correct loan department. The bank approved the check amount finally -- even though the loan department would not.
Since then, it has been a nightmare trying to get the money. The computer system is antiquated. You cannot transfer from the HELOC to the Comerica checking. Additional HELOC checks were sent to the wrong address (figure that one out), and after filling out an interest only form (at the beginning of the process and again in June), the full amount is still being deducted.
The first six months is a great interest rate...too bad you cannot get the money out from the account. I specifically needed the amount for home things, but every time I tried to use it immediately, it was not approved (very embarrassing). I was told I would have to go into the branch for approval. Does not make sense at all. I was told to use the debit card...which defeats the purpose of using the money conveniently. Many vendors charge a high percentage to use a debit card.Plus...it probably would not have worked.
Avoid the HELOC from this bank. You cannot get the money anyway.

Comerica is to Banks as United is to Airlines!
Our business account receives NUMEROUS checks using various versions of our business name and/or the business principal ... This has been going on since the early and mid 70s.
Recently, we attempt to make a deposit with an over cautious teller that picks and chooses which checks will be accepted and which checks they will reject -- to make the situation even worse the checks being REJECTED were written from our other account and was issued to provide a paper trail. BOTH accounts were owned by the same person!!!
With the numerous banks (both local and national) available to the consumer -- don't need to fight to make a deposit!
To make a bad situation worse ... when attempted to have the corporate office resolve the issue they were only able to repeatedly defend the pick and choose of the bank teller.
Don't bank here ... don't waste your time complaining to corporate -- there's no quality and they don't care!Is this review helpful?

I didn't accomplish anything
In Three Decades of banking I've never had a bank official come out from their bank - wearing his employee badge on a lanyard around his neck -- and skulk around behind me while I am using the ATM machine. It bothered me so I cancelled my transaction.
They're currently undergoing construction, so when I arrived on the "front" side, I had to ask a gigantic linebacker in a tiny golf cart with apparently nothing to do, if they were open for business. He made a kind of spasmic gesture of contempt and provided no answer.
I found my way around the scaffolding to the . . back (I guess) and began to use the ATM and that's when the Bank worker started skulking behind me.
I left. I called and cancelled my purchase, and walked around to go home. Two police officers and the bored Linebacker were around the front. I ignored them. When I encounter erratic or nazi-like behavior, I usually just leave. Thst's why I never returned to Comercia's Katella Honda Centrr location. They act crazy. And what bothers me a Great deal is, I pretty certain THAT corporate bank is the one Obama chose for the myRA savings program.

Left Hand Doesn't Know What The Right Hand Is Doing
I have checking, savings, and investments at comerica bank in the houston area. The personal checking/savings people are incredibly good, friendly and professional. The investment side seems to resent you for being a customer. They are officious, disorganized, and will even mess up your retirement money and taxes with mistakes. I complained (bitterly) to the local and regional managers about several errors on their part.
I have now been told - in writing - to transfer my accounts to another bank. Now that is customer service better suited to russia or a third world country. I, of course, will pull out completely rather than suffer the indignities of tolerating and then being insulted by a puffed up bank clerk with a title.

Iam a card holder "Direct Express" banking Institute Comerica Bank.
Fraudulent charges, since April of 2017 i have been disputing fraudulent charges on my account through Direct Express which is backed by Comerica Bank. To No avail after filing paperwork Direct Express dropped the ball. They stated that i must collect moneys owed to me myself. They will do nothing about the fraudulent charges even though it's clearly fraudulent they will do nothing. Comerica Bank backs this credit card company whom handles the Social Security benefits and Social Security Disability Benefits through the US government. Yet they dont even have a real customer service department. If your card is lost or stolen choose option 3 which will put you into a voicemail system that tells you to go to their website and then it explains all customer service representatives are busy and then it hangs up on you. I am disabled and exhausted from trying to have the fraudulent funds reversed Direct Express does nothing they won't even give you the banking institutions phone number they tell you they don't have it if you happen to be one of the lucky 13 % callers trying to get a live person at the customer service department. Now this may not be Comerica's fault however given the situation and all the bad reviews and the hundreds of complaints made to the Better Business Bureau I would think this banking institution would not renew a contract with Direct Express if they truly are concerned about the consumers. There has got to be a better way for them to make money then to use a system like Direct Express who fraudulently and willingly steals Social Security benefits from the elderly and disabled. I truly hope somebody from this banking institution is paying attention and that you do not renew contracts with Direct Express or you have a Headhunter go in there and start from scratch get rid of all the employees and get new people in there to handle the system better because honestly it cannot get any worse. There is No Feel felt found no empathy there's not a caring soul in the bunch that are supposed to be customer service Representatives they all have horrible attitudes. I would think they would be lucky to have a job at all. All the ones I've spoken to are not even fit to work at Walmart. You'll have to forgive me after being in retail sales for 30 years and in service customer relations this is not how you treat people no matter how small amount of money they may have with you. Its simply despicable. I truly feel sorry for all the elderly and the disabled people out there besides myself that have been ripped off by Direct Express your bank backs them. Please forgive any misspelled words or improper grammar I use it talk type app due to my disabilities. Is this review helpful? -

Bank Robs Disabled Client
I want to tell you what Comerica Bank did to totally Disabled Lindy Lampkin. Lindy's disability payment is processed through Comerica Bank and I left her card in the bank ATM so we went into the bank to get her card. The card was destroyed which is no problem but the bank suggested to Lindy she open the Comerica bank account to process her money which world be safer and easier. Now Lindy currently pays no fees and she was told there would still be no fees.
So Lindy believed the bank and deposited her last $80.00 in cash. Well in three months time Comerica Bank had taken all her $80.00 for fees. Lindy had not used the card and the bank took all of her money after saying there would be no fees. Not only did Comerica lye and steal her money they added more fees and then after they took her money they added insufficient fund fees and late fees. Now that the bank robbed her of all her money she now owes then more than $100.00 in fees.
I hope everyone removes their money today from this terrible bank, I am removing my IRA and encouraging everyone I know to remove their money. I am contacting all TV news people and will post on Facebook and hope everyone shares the story how Comerica Bank robbed a full disabled lady out of her money and now she owes them more or they will ruin her credit. They robbed her and now hold her credit hostage. This is wrong wrong wrong. Is this review helpful?

Very Poor
bank will make errors in night deposits and automatically withdraw the funds from your account. These are their errors: we double check our deposits by using two different personal to do the arithmetic. The management at the branch is inconsiderate, and I had the main branch correct banking documents which they incorrectly drew up. I have been with 'Comerica' when they were Manufactures Bank. This branch is full of nasty incompetent personnel.

Unprofessional and humiliating.
I recently went into this office to cash a check (which I do on a weekly basis) & another by a friend. Was waited on by Helen. After cashing both checks & informed her that I wanted to make a deposit to another account. I was told that a new rule applied and she could not do. When asked what the new rule was about making deposits she could not tell me. After telling her that he would go elsewhere she said that she would do it this time. The next day he went into another branch (Jolly Cedar) to ask Nan what the new rule was & could not explain the new rule but proceeded to tell me in front of all the customers that I was abusing my mother & that she sided with Helen. I was shocked and told her that I would take my banking elsewhere. The following day I went into the Lansing Mall Branch to cash a check & immediately after walking into the branch was asked by Kathy (in front of all the customers) when I was leaving the bank. In my opinion that is unprofessional & how would all of the other branches know about what had happened. Since when is making a deposit not allowed. And to accuse someone of something that is not true in front of others is very unprofessional & humiliating.

Absolutely Bottom of the Barrel in Banking
Stay away, unless you enjoyed banking in the 90's.
The people who work inside the branch are really nice, but unfortunately, they'll tell you themselves they are kind of at the mercy of a corporate office that has out of date, slow, unreasonable policies that haven't changed in 20 years.
Plus, if convenience or the use of technology are important to you, Comerica will frustrate you.
Let me illustrate: Our first check deposit at the ATM was held for 5 business days while it went through. Other banks have systems that communicate electronically with other banks, so your check clears in a day, maybe two. Not Comerica. Their antiquated systems still use old ways of verifying funds that can take a week.
Or how about this example: I tried to deposit a check from another person at another institution that had insufficient funds. Comerica's response? They froze OUR debit cards, locked us out of OUR online account, and froze all 4 accounts we have with them --- without a courtesy call or notice! I found out while trying to use my debit card at a store. Embarrasing!
So after a phone call, they provided me with a way to resolve everything and I promptly followed their steps that very day. It did not work. They told me somebody from a corporate office would call me to get things resolved. She didn't. I left four messages with her over two days. None were returned. It is now 5 business days, one whole week later, and my wife and I still cannot access our own money.
If the possibility of what happened above doesn't freak you out, then let me finish the job. When I work with the employees at the branch, they are as baffled as I am, and have no idea how to resolve things.
Worst experience ever. Don't buy into the sales talk about them being small so they can do more personalized banking. They are a national bank that keeps a small appearance so they don't have to spend money on things like technology, integration, informed employees, or more branches and ATMs.
