Very poor customer relations
Please avoid this bank. Their PMI department does not have a phone and responds to emails after weeks. They just want to make it difficult for a customer to remove the PMI from the loan and charge outrageous fees for Appraisals.

If you are into cryptocurrency do NOT use this bank
I was recently forced to close my Renasant Checking account after being a client for 2 years. The reason? I used my own money(not a Renasant credit card but my debit card) to purchase bitcoin on Coinbase. I used this account for a variety of other things as well like paying bills and the like however Renasant see's cryptocurrency as a threat and therefore I was forced to close my account. I never overdrafted or allowed my account to fall to zero the whole time I was with them. Think about that ; Renasant wanted to control how I spent MY money and because they couldn't they forced me to close my account(I was told a cease and desist letter was sent but I never received it so they called and told me to close it). There are a lot of other much better banks to chose from, don't waste your time with Renasant.

Lied about rates, I paid the price!
Please don't ever try to exchange foreign currency here! I spent WEEKS trying to get to the bottom of their exchange rates to make sure I got the most value out of the euros that I spent years earning before moving back to the US. I spoke to many different representatives and managers at this bank and they all assured me that they were quoting the correct rate, but in the end the final rate I received was a MASSIVE 16% less than what they all told me I was getting!! I am not sure if this is based on LIES or IGNORANCE but either way these people obviously do not understand their own policies and blatantly misled me, offering no sense of remorse or understanding when I asked if they could please help me correct their errors. In the end I lost hundreds and hundreds of dollars by trusting that what they all told me was true. Extremely disappointed and disgusted.

Refi mess
Completed a refi in Nashville in October. The loan officer told me the check I received in January was surplus and I could just cash it. I've now been notified 3 months later it should have gone back in to escrow and I'm severely short. You would think the people who do this for a living would know how to do it and advise correctly. They just cost a friend of mine $15000 due to errors in their calculations on his refi. Go with just about any other company unless you enjoy financial surprises to the negative side.

New home buyer
10 yrs ago I was in a serious fall accident which left me permanently disabled. Long to short, after losing my business, exhasting all savings to keep up the bills, our credit rating still uncontrolably suffered. After 10 yrs of rebuilding it, we went on a close friends recommendation to Renesant bank to Barry Butcher to try to get a preapproval to buy our first home. We have no late or delinquency on our credit, but Barry said he'd like to get us up just a little higher on our scores before presenting it to insure , from his experience, a good chance at approval. To do this, he said his assistant Sue, would review our reports and can tell us 99.9% guarantee how much to pay down and exactly where to raise our scores to what we need. We have been paying off and down things for 10 yrs. Though things were getting paid, it was very slow and minimum score movement, so when he told us that, it was like handing us a golden egg, and that we had money put up and were prepared to do whatever they recommend. He said if we didn't hear from him by the next morning, Wednesday, to call him. Did not hear back so for 2 weeks my wife and I both left him messages, emails, etc with no reply back. Since could not get him, I called and got his assistant Sue and explained we've heard nothing. She said she would definately get with Barry that day and immediately get back to me. That was now 3 weeks more ago, still NOTHING. We are going to seek help from another bank now, but I think everyone should know do not rely on these people. I don't know how they stay in business unless they'll only deal with commercial high rollers who want high loans and just tell the average mid class home buyers just what they wanna hear just to get rid of them. DO NOT USE RENESANT BANK!!!

Mortgage Loan Joke- Oxford, MS branch
My closing was continuously delayed over a 2 month period due to their mistakes. Used rep out of Oxford, MS. Then when finally closed they mail in the wrong amount due for the home insurance and expect me to pay what they did not instead of cutting a check to my insurance company. I was told it was not that much and to just pay it. I'm sorry but do not attempt to get a mortgage loan with Renasant Bank. Not knowledgeable and very unprofessional service.

Mortgage Department in Gainesville, FL is horrible
We have been forced to deal with Denise Harrington in Gainesville, FL for some time during our construction loan. I have never been treated so poorly or dishonestly in my life. Unresponsive and unaccountable. Management is in Atlanta, GA and doesn't seem to be very involved with their staff. Communication is almost non existent unless we initiate it. We have a hard time getting call backs, and no one in the mortgage department is proactive about anything. Have been very unhappy and would not recommend the mortgage department to anyone.

online banking
the system is out dated. I put it to have a check sent and they took the amount out the same day electronically that I entered the information. this made my account overdrawn with a insufficient funds charge.
I spoke to people at three different phone numbers. finally transferred to the branch. they would not refund charge because they get charged.
this is terrible customer service. no wonder the bank keeps changing it's name.
I would not recommend this bank if you like to do online banking. you can't define that date you want the bill paid. It was poor business practice to no refund the charge . I set the bill up for a check to be sent.. I'm really upset with this business. Is this review helpful? -

Bill pay is does not use industry standard EFT
Bill pay is does not use industry standard EFT. All my bills are paid late. The branch and main office personnel are the nicest people you will find. I believe they know something about the problem but being bank employees they will not tell me directly that they just can't use EFT on bills.
