Horrible! 1-800 customer service even more worthless
I opened up 2 accounts. 1 Personal 1 Business.
Personal: I had a charge for $2,860.00 made online. Stuff came and NOT what as described. Spent a month calling and emailing seller. No response.
Called bank filed claim. Said 60 days to possibly get my money back. But as Mastercard CLEARLY STATES, I am NOT responsible for not getting a item or not as described. Yet 60 days I am told every time I call to get a update on my account. That is all they tell me.Business: I got a check from a Canadian client drawn on U.S Dollars. I figured no big deal. Perhaps a week or so like my old bank until check cleared. 6 - 8 weeks. What are they walking it to the bank in Canada? This is insane! I plan to switch back to my local credit union. Such a mistake switching.

stay away from this bank
What an absolute nightmare bank to partner with. They will hen peck your account to death with fees. Even to accept a wire into your account as a deposit they will charge $20. If you call and talk to someone, that will come at a $2 cost. I tried to close my account (I now live in AZ) and was first told that the only way I could close my account would be to go back to TX. I called again after my account was now negative (due only to the $2 phone inquiry fee) and was told I have to send them the negative balance plus $10 in order to close my account. Of course, this will take a week to process and I have to call back after the account shows the $10. I cannot pay the fee with a debit transaction, it has to be a check or money order (to buy more time to charge more fees, I'm sure). I'm guessing I still will not be able to close it because I will be charged for more 'phone inquiries'. What terrible customer service. I can't wait until I can say 'Good riddance' to this bank, but I'm guessing it will be many more weeks, and more fees before that is possible.

DEPOSIT YOUR MONEY & THEY CUT OFF YOUR DEBIT CARD
I tried to use my debit card on my account in good standing with a 2,000.00 + balance only for the card to be declined, it took me two business days to find out that WOODFOREST NATIONAL BANK had cut my debit card OFF, because they did not like one of the merchants that I do business with (at least that is what they are claiming). Even though I have been doing business with this merchant for several years and it has never been a issue before. I receive a email from WOODFOREST NATIONAL BANK every day with all my accounts and the balances, never once did they bother to tell me they were cutting off my debit card never once did they mention that there was any type of problem at all, not to mention the last transaction I had with the merchant that they have the problem with was three weeks prior to them cutting off my card. After hours and hours on the phone with the corporate office located in the Woodlands did I find out that they not only cut off my debit card but they were going to close my accounts in two days WITHOUT telling me as well. I am 50+ years old and I have never heard of such in all my life. But once we got to looking into this a little more we realized that around this time of year (TAX TIME) is when WOODFOREST NATIONAL BANK is closing a large number of accounts WITHOUT ANY NOTICE at all to the customers, in hopes to tie up the customers TAX RETURNS that have been deposited into the customers accounts, my check was direct deposited on Wednesday and I only found out by accident that they were closing my account at 12:01am Friday Morning. This should be illegal to say the least. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH WOODFOREST NATIONAL BANK, you will end up regretting it. Bank said they do not like the stores I purchase from so they declined the charge. The purchase I was trying to make was for my monthly order of my MEDS

Good for 2nd chance but have hidden agendas
Opened my account with Woodforest. I had checking and savings. I would transfer money from savings to checking, but was never told it will be a fee. My account went into over draft. I called was told to take a test and send in the certificate to have my savings account fixed. But I was never informed that my savings account would be closed. Lack of communication, I was told by a rep that a noticed was mailed to me when I asked her what address she gave me a old address stating thats the only address on file. When I told her I received the mail at my new address she tried to say the letter came back not deliverable. I laughed because. Yes it went back but it was re-sent with my apt number written in. So somebody knows my address. Now I have to go back to the bank which is an hour away to see if I can reopen my account. Smh

Basic training for wannabee bank tellers and branch managers.
Poor bank, poor customer service. Nobody there knows what they are doing. If you call to speak to a customer service rep, guess what? you get the answering machine. I opened an account there in January. Checking and savings, direct deposit the whole deal. the debit card would not work. they sent me another one, for the 15 dollar fee of course, and it failed to work as well. the last card they sent only works at certian ATM's so I wind up paying the 4.00 surcharge every time I need cash. I finally started withdrawing my whole paycheck each week just so I would only have to pay one fee. Stay away from this bank unless you want their hand on your wallet. They have a high employee/management turnover, so don't expect to see the same employee twice.
I have since moved to Suntrust Bank in Charlotte.I opened the account online, the card came in three days the pin the following day. Chipped card that works everywhere. and you get answers on the phone from experienced bankers, and top notch customer service. They also have brick and mortar branches. You don't have to mingle in wal-mart to bank.

Biggest Joke of a so called bank !!
If this place could get a negative star I would have given it ! Placed a fraud alert with them 2 weeks ago where some goon in a foreign country had stolen my card info somehow and used a company called paysend to clean me out to the tune of over $800.00 ! 11 different charges. Alerted these idiots the same day i caught it which thank god was the day i got paid and got rejected at a restaurant saying card declined. knew i had just got paid that day. looked at my account online, called them right then and told them. they saw it, placed a fraud alert on my account told me my money would be put back on my card. 2 days later no money. call them back they say should be on there within another day or so. that time goes by still no money. that was last week still no money so i went there then these crazy things say well you needed to sign a paper so we can begin investigation and give money back. did that ! wondered why didnt they tell me this to begin with. ok they say another couple days then surprise still no money ! I go back today to the bank then im told it will be back in my account no later than this coming tuesday which is 3 more days. Also as I said fraud alert was called in on day 1 and these crazies still paid the money to these other ppl from another country after me telling them it wasnt me and they saw the multiple hits ! Im pissed and I am contemplating a lawsuit after this and changing banks when this is cleared up ! I have had to put my bills on credit cards and borrow money for 2 weeks because of this ! I would never recommend this bank to anybody ! Get you a prepaid card 1st ! Im so pissed im seeing stars !!

Had s stop payment on a check. Check went through and we had $660 before a 1295.00 check went through that wasn't supposed to they took our savings in one acct of 16.18 and 404.99 of money we never spent in the reli acct and put in the corrupted acct and then took my husbands paycheck out of said account and refused to give our money back. The 1295 came out of Reli account and they gave that back but not the 404.99 or the 500.00 that was in account before they screwed up. Now OCC and attorneys are checking this out. Really bad employees and many untrained and uneducated. Beware.

By far the worst bank I've ever dealt with.
I've had 2 accounts closed on me since I started using wood forest. I've only been with them for 2 years. I've always kept the minimum in my account, they never sat inactive for over three months. I came back to college and had to reopen my account, the 400$ in it was sent out and I haven't seen it since. The second account was closed shortly after I bought my car and pulled 10,000$ out and left 200$ in. A month later that account was closed and my $200 was gone. The third account which I'm going to go close after I finish typing this has been charged multiple times for $20 "service fees". I was unaware that you needed $100 worth of service to cash checks for me every month. To anyone thinking wood forest I strongly urge you to NOT USE THEIR BANKING SERVICES. Go to Huntington or Chase Bank.
