    Awful Bank!!!!

This bank routinely will lock your debit/credit card for fraud alerts for God knows what reason. Once they told us it was because there's a lot of fraud at that location. You have know way oof knowing your card has been locked which leads to incredibly embarrassing and ill-timed situations. Their online banking is going backwards. The reporting and availability of the system are horrendous. Run to another local area bank!!!! Try BMO Harris, First Midwest or Marquette to name a few. They seem like decent options.

What century is this? The whole experience with MB Financial is terrible

I'm a Chase, TDAmeritrade, Discovery customer and have used many store credit cards, and I've had multiple installment accounts with Synchrony and other credit institutions.

Without a doubt MB Financial is the worst bank that I've done business with. I don't recommend MB Financial.

This review is based on my motorcycle loan with MB Financial which was paid off without late fees or other financial issue. It's just that the banking experience is so flawed an MB Financial.

MB Financial offers a bad banking experience for many reasons...
    >Antiquated website- clunky UI, bad design, limited functions.
    >Around one year into my loan payments, they required I submit insurance information (even though it was the same insurance that I provided on purchase of my motorcycle.) Nothing changed my current insurance was in force and did not lapse- yet MB Financial required that I send insurance info. After sending insurance information- they did not provide a status message that information provided was accepted. Just silence..
    >MB Financial- is closed. Don't expect to call them and get someone because it always closed. I mean every other bank has customer service available after hours. But no- not MB Financial.
    >There phone system makes it difficult to connect to the correct person- I had a question about payoff and it took forever to get connected.
    >After I paid off the loan amount early- my online account was deleted. And, I did not receive notification of payment. Once again silence- no confirmation email nothing, zilch, nada.

This bank will consistently frustrate your best efforts to manage your account, or review your current balance, and will attempt to inconvenience you at every turn.

If you value your time- do not open an account with this bank. If you have an account with this bank- you already know how frustrating it can be a MB Financial customer. I wish the best extricating yourself from a painful banking experience.

Open an account or get a loan from Chase, BoA, TDAmeritrade, your regional bank, or just about any other bank except MB Financial.

I pretty sure that MB Financial is short for My Bad Financial choice.

    Delays Posting Payments

I got a loan for an RV, but it was thru a loan broker who was great to deal with. My problem with MB Financial is they certainly appear to 'take their sweet time' in posting payments. I pay via on line thru my bank (not MB), and this institution does NOT accept electronic payment (unless you have an checking account with them) from other banks. In this day and age who doesn't take electronic transfers? I tell you who.. companies that want to delay receiving your payment so the daily interest mounts up. I have tracked every payment to them and it takes at least 1-13 days for my payment to applied. I count from the day I know my bank mailed a check. Allowing 3 days, maybe 4 for mail to get there. You got to believe they are sitting on payments so the account will accrue more interest. It's not a lot of money, but multiply it by all the loans they have and it mounts up.

    Avoid MB Financial

They purchased my mortgage. They have been a horrible bank to deal with. My mortgage is paid via auto withdrawal. You would think that is a new feature with MB. Was incredibly difficult to set up. Also, their customer service staff is not knowledgeable and borderline incompetent. Then recently, a tree fell on our house. The insurance company lists your mortgage company as a payee on the check to start repairs. MB's process of getting funds released to begin work is a 2 week process and 2 weeks in-between disbursements. All parties involved with getting our house back to normal have been great to us WITH THE EXCEPTION OF MB FINANCIAL. They have made it an incredibly difficult process. You cannot help it if your loan gets sold to them, but avoid doing business with them if you have a choice in the matter.

Beware MB Financial's $50 fee to Rollover IRA CD to Another Bank

MB Financial offers such ridiculously low CD rates, that upon the maturity of my $50k IRA CD, I decided to rollover the funds to another bank. The IRS prefers the bank to bank transfer, so I filled out forms with the new bank and had them start the process to obtain the money from MB.

Afterward, I found that MB Financial helped themselves to $50 from my low-earning IRA CD. They claimed it was due to the wire fee. Had I known this, I would have walked into a branch and obtained a check for the full amount and sent it myself to the new bank. However, as mentioned earlier, the IRS frowns upon that method.

I am filing a grievance with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to bring government awareness of MB's excessive fees. They helped earlier when I had an issue with another bank.

Do Not Get A Mortgage With This Company!

Their mortgage department has the worst customer service!!! If you have a problem or a complaint they refuse to transfer you to anyone in charge and pass you off from lead to lead. They will not release the name of anyone in charge, or give you the email address for anyone in charge. If you have an issue you can email or mail in your complaint to a generic department. When it comes to my mortgage, i want to be able to speak to someone with authority if i have an issue and i want to be able to trust them. Not this company! They do not care about their customers at all. Don't even seem to care if they are losing customers.

This bank has a problematic history

I was a loyal corporate customer to MB. They, in return, were not as loyal to me. I caution anyone seeking to do business with this institution. They stole my business and went out of their way to destroy me personally. I put up a fight but they crushed me with their International law firm. Lawyers to be wary of are Marc Flessner and Robert Richards. They will use the power they have garnered from the fact that they manage the pension funds for police and fire to destroy you. They are ominous and are known to have mob ties. Be very careful with this bank if you do decide to go with them as they are trouble. They ousted my banker after it was discovered that he was corrupting my staff and getting them to work for him for a share of the spoils. I lost they won a business I poured my heart and all my wealth into.
